A/N: An answer to the feel for the bad guy challenge: The Queen of Hearts

The Queen of Hearts. That's how they refer to me, and that's what I've been for more than two hundred years. It's not as if I asked to be queen, it's just what I am, and why not take advantage of it?
I could help people, my people. I thought it would be better when we came to America, that everyone would have their freedom, that people here wouldn't be so biased. But no, it was simply not to be. One day, without warning, the magical barrier was put up, and it was almost as bad as it was before. The common people were turned against us- the Everafters. Since the Grimm family can't leave either, we thought that they would simply die out. But what do we get? They keep having more children! When that Relda woman's sons disappeared, we were all so happy. Sure I was sorry for her loss, but it would mean our freedom. She could only possibly live 40 more years- at the most, but what would that be compared to another century? Then, her granddaughters show up- two of them!
Well that put an end to the hope that they would die out on their own. To make matters worse, Prince Charming- our mayor- was assisting them, he could have let them die and let us all live our lives, but no, he wants to remain in control, to be a king or some rubbish like that. He was supposed to help us live good lives, at least up at the same standard the humans had. He has turned away from that so it's time for someone else to take over. Someone like me, someone who cares about the people, the Everafter people.
I have royal blood, why shouldn't I rule? I could actually do something for us, make things better. If I were to be mayor, that would stop Charming, and maybe even the Grimm family.

I won the election. Apparently, I'm not the only one who feels that Charming was not doing his job. He went and disappeared, but he's probably safer that way, some people aren't as peaceful as I am.

The Scarlet Hand has asked me for assistance; it's an organization that wants to help the Everafter community. I am seriously considering joining them since they are already organized and have everything planned out. Soon we will have our freedom.

This isn't what I planned for it to be. How was I to know everything would be destroyed? But I can do nothing about it; I'm not in charge anymore, turns out I never really was, the Scarlet Hand has taken over. How I wish things could go back to the way they were…
