Woman Overboard

The new Mr & Mrs Grotsky were ready to head off. The whole reception followed them done to the dock (including Table 19) to watch them and the wedding party board the ferry.

Bride and groom stepped on the ferry 1st. Then the best man and maid of honour.

In the quiet, a large splash was heard nothing thought of it and Teddy thought he'd seen Eloise, but he must have been wrong.

"She's in the lake," he heard a shout.

There was a lot confusion on the dock as to who had fallen in the lake but as the rest of the wedding party and the guests going home got on the ferry it became clear to Teddy occupants of Table 19 were watching Walker wade in the water his arms failing around. Eloise nowhere in sight.

Before he or anyone knew what, he was doing. He was up and over the railing and in the water.

"Teddy," shouted Nikki.

Then she saw him stride out of the lake, a wet and unmoving Eloise in his arms.

"Teddy we're going," shouted Nikki. He appeared not to hear her.

"Is that Eloise," asked Fran "Did she fall in the lake. Hunny tell the captain to wait."

A coughing was heard on shore and everyone turned to see Eloise gasping and throwing up water.

"She's fine are we going?" asked Nikki.

Teddy came onboard.

"Fran you should go you'll miss your flight," he said.

"Eloise?" she asked

He looked down. "I'm staying with her. I should have told you months ago. She's pregnant."

"Well then get your ass back to her," smiled Fran. "Keep me update.

"Excuse me!" shouted Nikki

Teddy looked at her. "I'm sorry."

He turned and headed back to Eloise.

Those on the ferry watched as he scoped her up and headed up the path before disappearing from sight.

It had been a wonderful wedding with happy endings. At least for now. Hey! You can't predict the future.

The End
