"The Old Band Room" a parody to "The Old Apartment" by Barenaked Ladies

A/N: This is dedicated to the seniors of the class of 2002 of the WHS Purple Pride Marching Band. (and dedicated to last year's seniors too!!) I wish the best of luck to our seniors and you will be sorely missed! (there goes our bass players and low brass… *cries*)

Broke into the old band room

This is where we used to play

Broken reeds, broke and tired

Broken bells and broken heads

This is where we used to play

Why did you change the awards?

Why did you clean the carpet?

Why did you fix the award that Sawana broke?

This is where we used to play

Why did you keep my drumsticks?

Why did you keep my flag pole?

These things used to be mine

I guess they still are

Give them back!

Broke into the old band room

Many feet from the marching field

Crooked tuba, crooked player

Narrow walkways filled with vans

This is where we used to play

Why did they fix the lights?

Why did they get new locks?

Why did I have to break in,

I only came to visit

This is where we used to play

How is Mrs. Britton?

How is her fatigue this year?

I turned up the stereo and stomped on a drum, just for fun

I know we graduated years ago

We all play for college marching bands

They like us but our purple pride still lives on

I'm happy here

But this is where we used to play

Broke into the old band room

Took the flags out of the flag room

There are memories, fading memories

Blending into dull gray blocks

Please give them back

Please give them back

This is where we used to play

Please give them back

This is where we used to play

Please give them back

This is where we used to play

Please give them back
