Megan began looking frantically for her sweater. "MOM, where is my blue hoodie," she screamed down the stairs. "I'm gonna be late!"
Her mom replied. "One, it is in the laundry room. And two the train doesn't leave for a half hour. We are about 15 minutes from the station." She grabbed the hoodie and took it up to Megan.
Megan put on the hoodie and grabbed her trunk. "Ok. I'm ready. Lets go. Please explain to me why we had to disrupt my studies in America to come to whatever this school is called."
Her mom sighs. "Because you were being held back at that school. They were teaching you 3rd year things in your 6th year! Hogwarts is much better. I've spoken with the headmaster Dumbledore, he says you will ride with the 2-7th years to the castle and will be sorted with the first years."
"Sorted," she asked closing the front door behind her. "What am I being 'sorted' for?"
"There are houses at Hogwarts. Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin, and Ravenclaw."
"Right, why?"
"For house competitions and qudditch I'm guessing."
"Ahhh. Well, then lets go," Megan said strapping on her seat belt. Her mom drove off to the train station. They finally arrive and Megan looks for her platform. "9 3/4 9 3/4... mom, I don't see platform 9 3/4."
"Um, well lets see if we can find anyothers going to Hogwarts." She looks around and notices a plump woman with red hair. She had 2 kids with similar red hair and a boy with black hair and glasses. She noticed that all the kids had trunks similar to Megan's. Um, excuse me you wouldn't happen to be going to the Hogwarts express would you?"
"Why yes. I am Molly Weasley and these are my kids, Ginny and Ron. And this is Ron's best friend Harry. Do you need help getting onto the platform," the woman replied.
"Oh yes, thank you. I am Evelyn James and this is my daughter Megan."
"Wonderful to meet you. Ginny why don't you go first and show Megan how to get onto the platform."
"Yes mum," she replied. She ran towards the wall between platforms 9 and 10. Just when Megan thought she was going to smack into the wall, she went right through.
"Well, thats a bit different from my last school," Megan said quietly.
"Ok, Megan why don't you try," her mom said. She took a deep breath and ran towards the wall. She closed her eyes when she got close to the wall and when she opened them she was on the platform. Soon after Mrs. Weasley, Ron, and her mom we there with her. "Ok well you should get on the train."
"Ok mom. I love you," she said as she hugged her. She got on the train and staired at all the compartments unsure of where to go. Ron, Ginny, and Harry came up behind her.
"Hey, come on, you can sit with us," Ginny said.
"Ok, thanks," Megan said following them. They went to a compartment with a girl with long wavy brown/blonde hair. She was reading a magazine upside down. She seemed to be a bit odd to Megan.
"Hi Luna, good summer," Ginny asked, motioning everyone to sit.
"Yes, yes it was," she replied peering over the magazine. "Harry, how was your summer?"
"Ok," Harry muttered.
"Well, I've gotta get to the Prefects meeting, Hermione is probably there by now," Ron said standing up.
"Bye Ron," everyone said as he left. Megan watched him leave. She couldn't help but think how cute he was.
"So, Megan, what year are you in," Ginny asked. Megan didn't hear her. "Megan...?"
"Huh, oh uh, what was the question," she asked distactedly.
"What year are you in?"
"Oh, uh, 6th."
"Cool same as Ron and Harry. Me and Luna are in 5th year. Me Harry and Ron are all in Gryffindor, Luna is in Ravenclaw. You'll meet Hermione later, she is a 6th year Gryffindor."
"Cool," Megan said. "Hey, I'm supposed to meet some guy... Dumbledore or something. How do I find him?"
"Oh don't worry, he'll find you.
OK gonna end it here. Please review and tell me what you think. I'll get the next out soon!
