Oops! My Water Broke

This guy (Huck) was whirling and twirling her around the dance floor and then she felt a pop. Huck let go of her and jumped back.

"You've wet my shoes!" he exclaimed.

There was a lull in the music, so everyone heard it and began to laugh.

"Holy shit," muttered Eloise, as she clutched her stomach.

"Can someone move her?" shouted someone. "Someone get a mope," she heard.

She felt nothing but the pain. She felt hands as they pushed on off the dance floor and at the ridged edge her foot caught, and she fell forward. Someone caught her and helped her to her feet but as soon the support was gone.

She started to make her way to the entrance and then was pulled quickly to it.

"What the hell are you playing at El?" asked Teddy.

"Babies tend to come when they want," she muttered, as she grabbed his hand, squezzing it as pain ripped through her.

"You're in labour," he said. "Now!"

"Like I said they come when they want." She muttered.

"She's in what?" came a voice.

"I'm having a baby Nikki," she gritted out.

"No need to get snarky," said Nikki.

"Yeah well it hurts," said Eloise.

Nikki folded her arms. "Can you let go of his hand so we can go dance?"

"Oh no. If I have to suffer through this so does he," said Eloise. "It's partly his fault anyway."

"Where you going to tell me?" asked Nikki as she rounded on Teddy.

He had the decency to look sheepish and Nikki stormed back into the reception.

"What do we do?" asked Eloise.

"You're asking me," said Teddy.

"I'll go to reception, you two to El's room," said Fran. "Dough is staying with the guests."

"Good job my friend's a nurse," said Eloise.

"Come on Teddy her room," said Fran.

"My bag is on the table," said Eloise.

"Teddy go and get it you'll be able to get in and out of there a lot quicker," ordered Fran.

He came back quickly but wet.

"Nikki threw her drink at me," he said.

"My daughter a god damn married woman," muttered their mother as she walked past. "Teddy what are you doing with her I told you she's no good for you."
"Hello Carol," said Eloise. "I'm you know just having a baby. Teddy's baby."
"A god damn grandmother," muttered Carol, before she headed into the reception. No doubt to find a drink.

He and Eloise went to her room. While Fran headed to reception. She hoped there was a doctor on site.

Eloise had been moved into a different room. She rested against the head board with Joe in her arms. Only looking up when Teddy exited the bathroom. He sat next to her and looked down at Joe and took her hand.

"Thank you," he muttered, giving her a kiss.

They were a family.
