Jim Bob wanted to know what happened. Why wasn't Joseph here? There was obviously more to the story than anyone wanted to say or more than certain people knew.
It had been year since he had discovered the Secret surrounding his birth. At the time, he was unsure of who he really was and wanted to find out anything that could give him some answers. Jim Bob knew John Boy would know if he was a Walton or not. He would never forget the day Jim Bob found out the secret. He was indeed a Walton,no denying that. There was more to the story that had been kept from him. He had another brother that sadly, passed away at birth. But what was the exact problem that had caused Joseph to die? Could it have been prevented? Jim Bob often wondered what would his twin be like. Would he be interested in airplanes, cars, how things worked, and flying. Or would his personality be completely different. Could there have been someone who finally understood him. Jim Bob always felt there was something missing from his life and he always had this empty feeling inside him. But what had exactly happened still remained a mystery unknown to Jim Bob.
Jim Bob knew one person who could possibly hold answers. He didnt't want to ask Momma as the topic caused her pain to think about much less discuss. He decided one day to approach her as he had been contemplating wether to ask her or not. He knew he would never get any answers to his many questions if he didn't come out and eventually ask.
"Grandma, can I talk to you alone?", Jim Bob asked. "Well I don't see why we just can't talk right here.", the old woman became suspicous at what the teenager could possibly need to talk about. "Grandma, please". Jim Bob was not his usual self. Grandma could easily tell there was something bothering him. "Okay then.", she was still puzzeled as they made their way into Grandma and Grandpa's room. The two sat on the bed in the center of the room. Jim Bob began to speak: "Could my brother's death been prevented? What exactly killed him?" The look on Esther's face was one that he had never seen before.
