A/N- A collection of Mortal Instruments drabbles, mostly based off of songs. Continually updated as I write more, but updates will likely be sporadic. All pairings and genres fair game, but content should stay at a T rating. Un-beta-ed so all mistakes are mine.

Enough for Now- The Fray (Clary's POV)

Clary used to wish she knew her father. She hated going through the motions in grade school, making cards for someone who would never see them.

Clary liked to pretend that Luke was her father, but it wasn't the same. Although she would never admit it to anyone; not Simon, certainly not her mother, she still wished she knew her father.

Look After You- The Fray (Magnus/Alec, probably between City of Bones/City of Ashes, Magnus' POV)

Magnus Bane did not fall in love. It was a matter of principle: he had a reputation to uphold. It was a matter of convenience: When you're going to live forever, why bother getting attached? And for 800 years or so, he'd done a good job of it.

Then Alexander Lightwood had to come along and turn his whole world upside down. And the stupid Shadowhunter didn't even know what he'd done.

Magnus just couldn't help himself. Every time Alec needed something, he had to be there to help; it was a compulsion. He hoped, hell, he prayed, that eventually, the boy would work it out.

Shiver- Coldplay (Magnus/Alec, during City of Glass, Magnus' POV, basically the same thing as Look After You drabble)

He wanted the boy to notice him. And it wasn't like Magnus was an easy person to ignore.

He grumbled and groaned about it, but when the ragtag group of would-be heroes needed his help, he showed up. Not for Clary, though the girl was nice enough. Not for Isabelle, although he could see them being friends. Certainly not for Jace.

He came for Alec. Magnus knew the blue eyed Shadowhunter felt something for him. And the warlock knew that he couldn't get the Nephilim out of his head.

Tell Me Why- Taylor Swift (Clary/Jace, angsty)

This was not how things were supposed to end. Tears were streaming down Clary's face as she glared at Jace.

She didn't want this. She didn't want the fights and the screaming and the pain.

Meaningless Kiss- Music and Lyrics Soundtrack (Isabelle/Simon, written before City of Fallen Angels)

Isabelle wasn't jealous of Maia. Really. She just hoped the girl took a tumble off the Brooklyn Bridge, preferably soon.

How fair was it that everyone else got a nice happy ending but her?

The Way I Loved You- Taylor Swift (Mortal Instruments- Alec/OC, Magnus/Alec, There is really no reason for this song to make me think of this pairing, but it does, every single time. )

There wasn't anything intrinsically wrong with Michael. By all traditional measures, he was perfect. He was attractive, charming, likable… Isabelle sometimes joked about stealing him. And he wasn't a Downworlder.

All changes in the Clave's relationship with them aside, Robert and Maryse Lightwood hadn't been able to pretend they were okay with his relationship with Magnus for very long.

Michael fit perfectly into Alec's world. So why couldn't he forget about Magnus?
