Animal Crossing New Leaf—
I sit cheerfully on the express train, swinging my legs back and forth. I'm not sure where I'm going today, but I know it will be an adventure. As I swipe my head back and forth looking through the windows of the whizzing train, a fellow passenger approaches me and takes the seat across from me. He starts asking me simple questions, like what my name is and where I'm going. Without a doubt, I open my mouth to speak, but then realize-
I don't remember my name.
I try as hard as I can, but it seems I can't remember anything about my life or me in general. Surprised, I give a confused face. I think up a name in my head and quickly blurt it out. Worried that the passenger will think something was wrong from my hesitation, I quickly breathe out of short breath of relief as he grins and keeps on talking. After another round of questions, he leaves me be and the train conductor calls out the approaching town. Willow.
The train slows to a stop in front of the station. I slowly step out of its doors, breathing in the fresh air. A colorful flag blows in the wind. As I admire the lovely station, I hear a voice from behind me.
"Here's your map, miss," the train conductor smiles at me.
I take it from his hands and study it for a second. After that moment, I head out of the station, walking down the steps. As I appear out of the gate, I'm shocked and surprised as a group of people and an official looking woman loudly greets me and welcomes me. Taken by the lovely surprise, the official woman steps up to me and takes my arm.
"Welcome, Miss Mayor!" she loudly exclaims.
The whole crowd cheers wildly.
"Um… you must have the wrong person," I reply, grinning through the confusion.
The woman looks at me, and for a moment I see uncertainty in her eyes, but a second later it's replaced with glee.
"Oh silly, you must be joking, Mayor!" she widely grins.
I ponder the thought of being a mayor. Maybe this won't be so bad.
After conducting the arrival of myself, I'm lead to town hall, given the drills and what not, and sent off my way to meet a mysterious housing agent who goes by the name Tom Nook. I walk up the town to see the town gate where I had come out of. A little to the left is the stairs that my new-found assistant a.k.a. official lady, Isabelle, gave me the directions for. A literally skip up the stairs up into main street, as my new life as a mayor begins.
I slowly walk to the top of the stairs, taking in the sights that I would see many times during my time here. I quickly spot the office where Nook proceeds with business. Hmm. I think. Nook's probably a good nickname for him. Shrugging off the thought, I swing open the doors and rush inside to the cold, air-conditioned office. Small displays of houses and house accessories are displayed here. Quickly though, a plump man strides up to me.
"Welcome welcome! You are the new mayor, yes? Let's go pick out your house!" he says without waiting for my reply. He leads the way out the door and runs down the main street steps.
We head down the town as Nook tries to catch up. I get to set up my house anywhere I want, so it takes a while to find a perfect spot. At least Nook can get a work-out in the process. Finally, I pick a spot on the edge of the map, looking out towards the beach. Smiling, I turn to Nook to place my house. We exchanged a few words, and a second later he has set up a make-shift tent for my living space for now. After, I ask him my debt for the house.
"Yes, yes! The debt will be 10,000 bells! Mere pocket change, yes? Well, I'll be on my may!" he blatantly picks up and walks out of my sight. I'm still jaw-dropped.
How will I make all that money?
