Never Going Back
Disclaimer: I don't own any of these characters, sadly.
Once again Kagome climbed up the rusted ladder of the Bone Eaters Well. It had been a whole month since she was last in Feudal Japan. She was half expecting Inu Yasha to be there waiting to yell at her for staying gone for so long, but to her surprise, he wasn't. In fact no- one was.
Kagome climbed out and set her bags on the ground near the base of the well. She made a complete circle around the well looking for a sign that any one was there to greet her. She stopped when she heard a small high pitched voice, "KAGOME!" and there was no mistaking who it was. Shippou came flying out of nowhere and tackled Kagome.
"Hi Shippou." Kagome said picking herself up off the ground. "How have you been?" But Kagome knew it was no use talking to Shippou, he had already found the bags of stuff she brought back for them. Kagome heard another voice and turned to find Sango and Miruko walking towards her.
"Hi Kagome how have you been?" Sango asked embracing her in a tight hug. "It feels like it was forever since you were here." Kagome quickly hugged Miruko before he had any time for wandering hands.
"Yay! Raemen." Shippou yelled, "I almost forgot." Kagome said walking over to her bags, which Shippou had already dumped out on the ground.
Kagome rummaged through the pile of stuff and brought out a book and some red swimming trunks. "These are for Miruko." She said handing them to him.
"Manners for Monks" Miruko said reading the title aloud. "I have manners." "Not very good ones." Sango muttered out the corner of her mouth.
Kagome walked back over to the pile of things lying on the ground. This time she brought out a bikini and a boomerang servicing kit. "Theses are for Sango, the bikini should fit I think it's your size." She handed them to Sango and once again went back to the pile of objects.
"What about me?" Shippou asked. Kagome dug around and handed him a book on basic Kitsune spells and a pair of green swimming trunks. "Thanks." He said as he gave Kagome a huge hug.
"Where is Inu Yasha I got him something?" Kagome said holding up a pair of blue swim trunks and a bag of some shampoos and conditioners.
"He's around here somewhere I'm sure." Miruko said having already started reading his new book. About that time Inu Yasha jumped out of a near by tree.
"Oh there you are Inu yasha, here these are for you.'' Kagome handed him the bag and the trunks. "What took you so long Wench!" Inu Yasha yelled. "Now Inu Yasha, in this book it says you should never yell at a lady." Miruko said pointing at some words on the page. "Yeah well because she went on a vacation, Naraku is getting stronger, he has already got more pieces of the shard than we do." Inu Yasha yelled.
Kagome had a small look of surprise on her face. " What do you mean?" She asked. "Well," Sango started to explain, "when you left, Naraku started gathering the shards and in a whole month, he has defeated the Lords of both the Eastern and the Northern Plains."
Kagome's mouth fell open. "You mean he has gotten that strong?" Miruko nodded. Inu Yasha gave his little "feh" and jumped back in to the tree. "Well we should start looking for the shards right away." Kagome said and picked up her back pack. The others followed her back to the village.
