"Arg!" Fargo threw up his hands in defeat. "Aye, you win. We'll have the blasted party…"
"Rockin'!" Nikki looked fairly pleased with himself. After a week of persuading his father to get everyone together for a party on his precious ship, it was good to know the effort had paid off. "The ship might not be the ideal party boat, not like the Zelbess—" Fargo shot his son a glare that would have previously terrified the young rock star, but for the fact that father and son had come to know each other better in the last few months, "—but that shouldn't be a problem, right?" Nikki asked, turning to the third member of the conversation.
"Like, what?"
Fargo and Nikki sighed in unison.
"Oh, right. Like, the party. So, what was the question?"
"Never mind." Fargo looked back at Nikki. "How are we supposed to let everyone know about this party? We are, after all, in different worlds."
"I've already planned that," said Nikki smugly. "Janice stayed on at the Bend of Time for more training, remember? We send the info through her."
"Fine. You plan, I'll get the Invincible ready to be overrun by land-lubbers." Fargo went below deck, muttering to himself about little children who'd better stay away from the cannons.
Nikki and Marcy looked at each other.
"Like, you're doing the work."
IIIIIIII
Janice sighed as she looked at the nine-year-old in front of her. "Marcy, I don't have time for this. Can't your brother get someone else to deliver the messages?"
"Nope. He says, like, you're the only one with connections to both worlds. So, like, you have to."
"What about Serge? Or Kid? She's the one with the amulet, after all."
Marcy shrugged.
"Of course, no one would dare disagree with the grand Nikki…or Fargo, for that matter…well, no one except me." Janice's eyes glinted dangerously for a moment, then dimmed as she recalled her last attempt to counter one of their decisions. She had made the mistake of assuming the captain of the Invincible was as cowardly as that of the Zelbess, and had paid for it by being tied up in the crow's nest for several days. "Fine. I'll do it. But make sure he knows I'm not happy with him interrupting my training time."
"Like, whatever."
Janice shook her head and began to walk away, but turned back when a thought occurred to her. "Marcy? How is Fargo planning on fitting all forty-four of us onto his ship?"
But Marcy was already gone.
A/N: Well? Yes, I know it's not that funny; this is more of a prologue than a real chapter, but review and tell me what you thought anyways! I know some characters are going to be OOC, but there's way too many to get an accurate picture of everyone's personality in the game, and Serge especially, because guess what? He never talks, and you control what he does. So flame if you wish, but you have been warned.
