A/N: So I just had the idea for this one-shot while listening to Hate To See Your Heart Break by Paramore so I suggest listening to that song while reading this. I do not own the song or the title.
Tegan's POV
It was a kind of tradition to go for drinks on the last day of a successful tour. Which is what Lindsey, and the rest of the crew were planning on doing tonight.
"Are you going Tegan?" My girlfriend asked.
"Yeah. Are you Sara?" I asked my younger sister, although I knew the answer to my question before Sara could even open her mouth.
"No you guys go on ahead. I'd rather say on the bus and read." I nodded and everyone had gathered up in a group in the venue parking lot. From the corner of my eye I saw Sara get on to the empty bus and turn on the light in her bunk.
"Alright so we're all agreed on the club?" Lindsey asked the group. Everyone nodded their heads in agreement.
"You coming Tee?" Lindsey asked me.
"Oh yeah of course. Let me catch up with you guys." I said while gesturing my head toward the tour bus where I knew Sara would be in her bunk. Lindsey nodded her head in understanding and jogged to catch up with the rest of the group. I made my way to the bus; I felt that Sara needed me for some reason. It was something in her eyes, or maybe it was just twin intuition. I wonder all of these things as I walked on to the bus.
"Sara?" I asked into the mostly empty bus.
"Go away, Tegan." I heard Sara's hoarse voice respond to me. She had been crying and I could hear it.
"No. I'm staying right here." I said nudging her to scoot over in her bunk. Although her back was facing me I could just sense the sadness she held. Sara knew I wouldn't leave until I felt satisfied that I had helped her feel better so she relented and scooted closer to the wall, her back still facing me. I climbed into her bunk and held her at her waist, a completely innocent action.
"Sare. What's wrong?" I whispered
"Stacy." Was her only reply.
"What about her?" I asked at the mention of my sister's girlfriend.
"I don't know. We've just been having problems." She said finally facing me. The sight I saw broke my heart. Sara would never show this much vulnerability with anyone other than me. Her hazel eyes had darkened with more brown than green, and they were rimmed with red. But other than that the life seemed to have drained from the hazel orbs so similar to my own.
"Oh Sasa. You guys will be okay. She loves you and you're absolutely crazy about her. And even if your relationship doesn't pan out I'll be here for you." I said holding her closer to me as she cuddled my chest.
"Sara?" I asked after a few minutes of silence. When I got no response I slightly moved her from my chest to find she had fallen asleep. I smiled at how content she looked. So different from the heart broken woman I had just seen moments before. And in that moment I knew Sara would be okay and I slipped from her grasp and changed my tear soaked shirt for a fresh one before quietly exiting the bus.
