I died and I did not scream.

I died in fire, wind, earth, and air. I died in thunder, shadow, river, and wind. I died by cats and claws, words and wounds. I died.

I died a traitor. A traitor to my clan, my familiy...to you, brother.

"Wow, big brother, that was cool!" exclaimed a young kit in the shadows of the pine. Long raven coloured fur and black eyes, a small copy of me as a kit. "Now it's my-"

"No, Crowkit." I murmered. "We have to get home before sunfall." Crowkit, my brother, snarled. "Just watch!" he yowled, attempting to preform the move I showed.

"No, wait-"

"OWWWWWW!"

L.A.T.E.R.

Crowkit chuckles to himself as he rides on my back. "What's so funny?" I ask."Or is spraining your paw just an excuse not to walk home?"

"No way!" he yells. I wince. Ow... "But my apprentice ceremony is tomorrow, and I can't wait!" Of course...

"Hey, big brother?" Crowkit asks. "Hmm?"

"Why is our familiy symbol on the clan guard?"

"So you finally noticed..." I take a deep breath, adjusting Crowkit on my back. "When the clan guard was made, our familiy were the only members. So they took our symbol-" nudging the pawmark on Crowkits shoulder"-and used it to honor our sacrifice."

"When I grow up, I'm joining the guard!" he announces. I smile softly."I'm sure you will."

I'm sure you will...

I jerk myself back to the present, facing a much older Crowkit- now Crowstrike. The rage and revenge in his eyes hurt me more than my death will ever.

"I'll avenge the family now." he hisses. "You know, the one you murdered?" I wince- he dosen't know the truth."Well, get on with it." I say, looking at him. He narrows his eyes, than opens them in shock as I throw my head back, exposing my throat and looking at the stars.

I died in hatred and did not scream.

"Why?"Crowstrike hisses. "Why? Why did you kill them? Mother, Father, everyone! Why!" He yells at me.

To protect you. "I can't tell you- but you won't kill me." I whisper. "I- I can't let you become what I am." "Why do you care?" he shot back.

"Because you're my brother. " I say."You're still Crowkit, the same one I carried on my back so long ago. Did you wonder why I flinched when you said you wanted to join?" I search him with my gaze, those crimson eyes of mine. "They were traitors, Crowstrike. They would have turned on the clan."

I died in truth and did not scream. I died in blood, from the wound I made on my throat with my own claws.

"Crow...strike..." I gasp. He looks at me with tear filled eyes as the truth is revealed, that I just protected him all this time."Forgive...me..."

"No." he says. "Forgive me, brother."

I close my eyes. I have always been the protecter.

I died in love and I did not scream.

No flames, please. I think this is good, and I like the story. Review and ill make more! wolf out!
