My morning starts off the same as it always does with the gentle knock on my bedroom door from my father Kyoraku Shunsui who was probbly on his way to a Captains Meeting.I quickly got up and answered the door and gave my father a quick grin and he gave me a pat on the cheek.
"I'm off to a Captain's Meeting so you better get up and get ready for work or Shiba Fukutaicho will come and get you for being late again,Umiko,"
"You mean how Uncle Jyuushiro comes for you everytime when Nanao can't get you to move and I'm off today so this is pointless and tell Nanao I'll be down in a minute to help her with the paperwork which you nelgected to do and the Old Dragon is going to have your hind for ,Daddy for someone as intelligent as you how did you get lazy whereas I'm your daughter and I'm nothing like you or mom." I said smoothly,"And Shiba has never bursted me for being late but you on the other hand are usually late so you better get going Daddy!"
A snort was his only answer and a giggle of delight was my reply.
I was in the Eighthth Squad's Office with Ise Fukutaicho when my father and Uncle Jyuushiro bursted in through the door both looked pissed and the look on my father's face that he was about to let hell loose on someone's Jyuushiro just looked really worried.
"Daddy,what's wrong with you?Did the Old Dragon tear you a new one again and why do look so worried Uncle Jyuu,Nanao and I are almost done with the paperwork."I asked looking from my father to my Godfather with an elegant brow raised.
"No,lil Umi-chan,you have been transferred to eleventh squad and your father couldn't do a thing to stop it and Zaraki isn't at all pleased either considering whose your father is and who your mother was and that you're a girl"said Ukitake grimly.
"Is that all,"said I calmly,"Will then since I have no say in the transfer and the Old Dragon thinks I need toughening up does both the Head-Captain and Zaraki are in for a surprise because I'm not afraid of either of them.I respect them but I'm not afraid of them either.I'm not gonna run and hide behind daddy's hakama anymore it's about time I stand on my two feet."
Daddy smiled and said smoothly,"My little girl isn't so little anymore is she Jyuushiro?"
"No,she isn't and things will start to get alittle interesting around here and Zaraki will be getting a great warrior in Umiko and I'll miss you but I'll come and visit my spunky goddaughter!"said Jyuushiro proudly.
"Hey take a number and stand in line!"snapped Nanao who hugged me tightly.
I could only laugh as all three began to fuss over who loved me more and I was just happy.
