She never really thought of yellow as a color that suited her.

Yellow was always a color that seemed to have a certain type of cheerful brightness. Yellow would probably be a good color for that student council girl, Milly, or even Shirley, if she was still alive that is.

Someone who isn't like her, really. She isn't necessarily a bright person who always has a smile on her face. In fact, she can barely remember the last time she truly smiled.
Sometime during her human life, she supposes, and she silently wonders if there was anything to smile about during that time period.

Everything in that period seems fake to her now; fake smiles, fake love on several different accounts. It was probably suiting for her to create a wall around her heart.
Besides, it really wasn't like she would ever get a 'happily ever after' anyway, even if she didn't close her heart to people; although she silently supposes that Marianne found a place in her heart when she had stumbled across her and her husband Charles about thirty years ago.

Then there was her son Lelouch. Despite the fact that she tried to shut her heart away from him, he had somehow managed to sneak his way into it.

Even to the point that she could feel herself falling in love with him, not that she would ever really show it. Although, their relationship has always been more on the complicated side than anything else.

It was hard to define, to the point that they couldn't really describe what they mean to each other; they had started out accomplices, partners in crime.

She slips on an elegant pastel yellow strapless summer dress that is knee length and outlined in a darker shade of yellow on the bottom.

She can feel Lelouch's lavender eyes silently glancing at her with a slightly appreciative gaze, and she knows that he likes the dress, whether it was because it shows a lot of skin or not.

So she wasn't necessary surprised to see his cheeks glowing a light pink color. He very rarely comments on what she wears, but she knows that he prefers anything with a bit of color on her. Anything besides the white prisoner garb she had worn before.

She silently knows that Lelouch had that outfit burned shortly after he entered the life of an immortal, saying something along the lines that they weren't going to be tied to the past anymore, and she had found herself agreeing.

But then again she also silently knew, as selfish as it may sound, that she wouldn't be alone anymore. That Lelouch would be by her side now. But she automatically felt guilty as soon as the thought crossed her mind.

The life of an immortal wasn't necessarily easy, even if you do have someone to share it with.

"Here C.C.," Lelouch said, and her golden eyes rested on a pair of two yellow ribbons lying in his palm in such a way that the ends of it extend over the side of his hand.
She notes the fact that it is the same color of yellow as the thin stripe of darker yellow at bottom of her dress.

She smiles brightly at him before taking the pair of twin ribbons, but instead of automatically tying them into her hair she decides to softly rest her lips against his.

Almost as if it was her silent way of saying thank you to him, and she silently knows that Lelouch would catch the hidden meaning of her actions.

The kiss was soft and chaste, but she pulled away from him before it could deepen and moved to tie the ribbons into her lime green locks, quickly glancing at herself in the mirror before hurrying off to meet him by the front door.

With the knowledge that he is going take her to Pizza Hut, going out with Lelouch (even if it is just to a pizza diner or shopping) has honestly started to feel like a date.
And she enjoys that type of feeling.
