A Sonnet is Worth a Thousand Pictures
By: SilverLunarStar
Disclaimer: As usual, I don't own any of the characters. The sonnet, however, is MINE.
Author's Note: Part three; sequel to A Timeless White Day and A Picture Perfect Valentine's. It's Sakura's birthday so I decided to post something up. Enjoy!
Our beginning might have been a little rough
A small girl, naïve of the world around her
An idiotic boy trying to act tough
Without knowing what they'd face together
Capturing his attention with her heart of gold
He was no longer a solitary tower
Those who knew him before thought he'd always be cold
And they could not understand her power
Her magic is not to be trifled with
And her love for all is her greatest asset
The ancient powers of legend and myth
Have no hold over what is her kismet
Unpolluted by greed or any other sin
While feminine, she can't be compared to yin
It was currently 2:15AM when Kinomoto Sakura finally closed the book, showing its pink, cloth-bound cover. She placed the innocent book on her nightstand before turning her lamp off, images of all the pictures in the photo album her best friend, Li Syaoran, had given her for her birthday playing her mind. The sonnet she had just read was carefully written on the black flap; a smile held its place on her face as she drifted off. The words echoed in her mind clearer than any of the pictures.
Happy Birthday Sakura!
I hope the poem was clear. If not, let me know. Not my best work, but the last few lines were horrid in the rough draft. Sorry this one's so short, but I wrote it with only two days left to Sakura's day and my brain's a little fried. Promise the fourth, and final, sequel will be long.
Hope you liked,
Thanks for reading,
