Good Intentions
Their relationship of nearly three years was impressive for high school. But Roxanne knew splitting up now was best.
The breakup was mutual; graduation was coming, they were going to different colleges, and long distance relationships hardly worked out. Concentrating on the next chapter of their lives was just easier without anything holding them back.
The thought of Max getting another girlfriend still hurt. But it wouldn't hurt forever. She might find someone new eventually. That's what college was for, right? Experiencing different things, learning what you really wanted.
And maybe… she'd stop thinking about losing who she wanted most.
