House doesn't like to cuddle –that's what Chase has always been told by his boss. And yet, funnily enough, whenever they wake up, the blonde miraculously finds himself wrapped in House's arms.
So Chase just smiles and shakes his head as he fondly brushes his lips across the other man's forehead, and quietly slips inside the blankets, getting comfortable in House's warmth.
He also doesn't argue whenever House complains about Chase molesting him in sleep –although House himself doesn't let a single chance pass at 'molesting' Chase –and just laughs.
"You don't need to cackle like a witch." House always grumbles when Chase does that, and the latter just rolls his eyes and gets out of the bed to get ready.
There are those really rare days when House lets his insecurities display slightly across his face.
"Well, he was handsome, and young, and rich…" House shrugs, feigning nonchalance.
"Oh, yeah?" Chase smirks, leaning against the kitchen counter.
The older man's piercing blue eyes meet with his, and Chase holds back a chuckle, "I would."
And then, because he knows it's pointless to argue with House, the blonde walks over to him and leans down and whispers in an oh so sensuous voice, "Well, then, maybe I'm into older men."
And then Chase walks back to the bedroom, hiding his smile as he hears House releasing a relieved sigh.
"Hey, watch Criminal Minds with me!"
And then, of course, there are the nights when Chase is insecure. He deals with them quite differently, because the blonde has always known that no matter how good he is at masking his feelings, House has mastery in the art and it's pointless to pretend in front of him, so he just walks over to places where he can be alone.
So, when his boyfriend –gosh, it still sounds weird –is standing in his balcony, all silently, House stops a foot behind him, and waits patiently for Chase to turn around when he's ready.
House doesn't say any reassuring words like 'You're perfect' or 'You're special' or even 'Stop being a pussy'. He just waits, and that's enough for Chase to know that he is enough for House.
When he turns around half an hour later, and still finds House standing behind him, looking at him instead of the stars, he knows that he is more than enough for House.
Because Dr Gregory House doesn't wait silently for just anyone.
And he hardly ever holds himself back from probing other people about their business, so yeah, that too.
Chase smiles, "You want take-out?"
"Only if the British pay."
