If you had said anything to Fira about 'settling down' a few years ago she would have laughed it off and probably told you to lay off the drink.
But then, a lot had changed.
It had taken a while to get used to not having the constant hum of her ship, which had been one of the most reassuring sounds in the whole galaxy to her. It was silly, she knew but it was as if it was the hum of life, or something.
She wasn't good at metaphors.
Anyway, she hadn't retired; this was a breather.
She stretched out slightly on the bed before nestling into his side a bit more. She had one arm rested over his chest, and he had one across her shoulders. Sunlight came in through the window bathing them both in warmth.
And it also meant more time with him without getting interrupted.
Things were good.
She was pulled out of her thoughts.
"We still need a name for the kid," He smiled, brushing a hand across her stomach.
"I'm not sure if I'll let you have any input,"
"Why not?"
"Sparkles… Flashy… need I say more? Not sure I can trust you with naming a kid,"
"Hey, I know the difference," He chuckled, "'Sides, kids are trickier, they can claim you ruined their lives forever by giving them the 'wrong' name,"
"No pressure then?"
"I think naming the kid is the easy part," He pulled her in a little closer.
She chuckled.
She propped herself up somewhat, running a hand through the short layers at the back of her red hair, "You got any ideas?"
"Well, if it's a girl,"
"If, it's a girl?"
"What? You know something I don't?"
She smirked, "Just call it a hunch; you should know those usually turn out well."
"Most of the time,"
She shook her head. His arm was around her back now, idly tracing patterns.
"Oi, don't think of distractin' me," She tapped him on the nose.
"Me? Never," He put his hands up in mock surrender.
"So what was your idea?" She said settling herself next to him again, this time resting her head against his chest.
"I was thinking something beginning with L…"
