Fabian's POV
It started out as any normal day, but at breakfast I noticed Nina was very quiet and acting somewhat strange. After breakfast on our way to school I asked her what was troubling her but she shrugged it off and changed the subject.I figured that she didn't want to talk about it right now and that I would try again later. I tried again at lunch and still the same response. By now I was really starting to get worried. I decided to let it go for now and just let it slide and then I would talk to her after school. I figured it might be that she just didn't want to talk about it in public and wanted to tell me in privet after school. When we arrived in french class she didn't look any better if anything she looked worse. During class Nina raised her hand and asked to go the bathroom she was granted permission and when she got up from her seat beside me I saw a tear streak down the side of her face. I think that the teacher also saw and she knew that I had seen it to so she nodded her head signaling for me to go after her and see what was the matter. I found her near the girl's bathroom sitting on the ground her knees pulled up to her chest with her head down and he can hear quiet sobs coming from her causing her entire body to shake. I don;'t think she noticed that I was there until I went and knelt down beside her. She then looked up at me and I saw that her cheeks were stained with tears.
"What's wrong?" I said sitting down beside her and rubbing her back.
"Nothing." She she said hastily wiping the tears from her face and eyes obviously trying to avoid the subject.
"Nina?" I said looking into her eyes and giving her a look that said just tell me I can help you and I'm not buying it.
"Fine," She said finally giving in. "today is the anniversary of the car accident that killed my parents." She said with a shudder. "I just really miss them." She told me.
"Nina, I-I'm so sorry." I told her helping her to stand up and then pulling her into my chest and hugging her there for a minute.
"It's ok, don't worry I'll be fine" She told me reassuringly.
"Maybe you should just go home and relax." I told her.
"No, it's ok I feel much better now." She said and then pecked me on the check. This caused my face to turn red and I could see a faint blush in Nina's checks as well.
As we walked back to class we held hands the entire way. I felt very much realized that Nina was feeling better and that I now knew what the problem had been. Though I still felt terrible for Nina and what she had to go through. I just wish there was someway that the past could be undone but there is no way to turn back time everyone is forced to just keep moving forward with their lives and deal with the consequences of mistakes and reap benefits of good decisions.
