To those of you who have followed/reviewed, thank you, but I think I could do something better with this, and that is exactly what I intend to do. So have faith and pray that this doesn't turn out too horrible :)

For those of you who are new to the story, this is Fem Yugi. And updates may be EXTREMELY random. But... thanks to a reviewer I have finally started work on this, even if it IS a rewrite.

When Yugi defeated the Pharaoh, the Friendship squad, plus their unexpected guests, were understandably surprised to say the least; but when the Pharaoh chose to stay with his mortal friends instead of entering the Afterlife the Gods decided, despite how terribly unwise the idea was, to send the Yamis of Marik Ishtar and Ryou Bakura back; but like everything else in the world, such a deed was not without requiring some sort of payment.

An exchange of equal worth for the three powerful Shadow Mages that had been allowed back into the Living World.

The payment? Yugi's Mortality.

She, who had defeated the Nameless Pharaoh, who held onto her Innocence despite the darkness cast on her young life would, on the eve of her twenty-first birthday, become the Queen of the Shadow Realm, a Goddess of a domain that none wished to rule, a domain that connected two parallel worlds intimately.

Ah but we are getting ahead of ourselves, no I think it is prudent that we go back a short time, say... the end of the Ceremonial Duel?

"As fun as it has been, Yami... Atem, our paths divide from here. It has been an honour to serve as your Host, despite many of the..." Yugi gave a little cough, a faint blush staining her porcelain skin. "Awkward situations we got into, I'm glad for the memories we have made together and will cherish them all equally." Amethyst locked with Crimson, Light and Dark so perfectly balanced; but so different and yet terribly similar. "May the Afterlife treat you well, my beloved, and may our memories forged in bliss or misery never fade."

As Yugi made her way across the stage, her clothes changed from her sensible outfit of black jeans, back tank top and the royal blue blazer that was part of the Domino High boys' uniform; to a gorgeous white silk dress with black and crimson embroidery throughout the fitted bodice of the gown, a low cut neck line and a full skirt that seemed to move around her like water.

Atem was spellbound, his precious, beautiful Hikari, his Yugi, stood in front of him, her large amethyst eyes looking into his with a love so pure it nearly broke his heart.

"Yugi..."

Yugi smiled softly as she place a light kiss on her Yami's lips, pulling away before Atem could react and giggled sweetly as she danced back.

"Go, my love, and be reunited with those who you had to leave behind. Go and enjoy the rest you so greatly deserve." Yugi's smile turned bitter-sweet then, her eyes gaining a faint misty look. "But if you choose to stay... then something must be given in exchange. So choose wisely, my beloved Pharaoh, for your choice will affect us all."

Atem stared at the girl, no, young woman in front of him in disbelief. Yugi, who had just kissed him so sweetly, was telling him to choose, choose between the woman he had fallen in love with and the friends he had made alone the way and Eternal rest.

Yugi frowned slightly when she saw the sorrowful expression on Atem's face.

"Atem, if you turn your back now, you will never be able to rejoin your forefathers, you know that, right?" Atem looked towards the doors once more before closing his eyes and turning away, walking towards his friends.

"I understand and I have made my choice. I will stay here for the rest of my mortal life." Yugi sighed, closing her eyes for a few moments before snapping them open again and embracing Atem.

"Welcome home, my beloved." But Yugi's gaze was on the doors once more, or to be more exact the bodies lying in a messy heap of limbs at the foot of the ancient doors. Mere feet away from the all too familiar male forms, Yugi stood looking down on them, a scowl marring her beautiful face.

"Yugi, what is it?" Looking over her shoulder, Yugi motioned for Ryou and Marik to her side, confusion clear on her face.

"Ryo, Mar, is it just me or do these two look like your Yamis?" The two male youths looked down at the tangled pile and frowned, Marik going so far so to kick the ash haired brute lying in front of him.

"Not sure about this one, Yugi but this one" Marik kicked the unconscious blond in the stomach "This one is definitely my psychotic half. I would recognise him anywhere." The trio looked at each other before coming to an agreement and got Joey and Tristan to help hoist the dead weights out of the tomb.

As each member of their rag-tag party left, Yugi glanced once more around the room that was the stage to her victory over the Nameless Pharaoh and turned to make her way out only to be called out by a voice so deep and powerful.

When Yugi finally emerged from the tomb her hands shaking horribly and tears were falling down her face.

Her fate was sealed.

Days turned to weeks and weeks to months and before anyone knew it a year had passed since the Duel between Atem and Yugi.

However things were not as happy as one would assume for slowly but surely her friends were forgetting about her and on top of that Solomon Muto had passed away in his sleep.

"Yugi? Who is that? I'm sure I would know; at least remember, a guy named Yugi." Yugi scowled in disgust as the moronic blond looked down at the kid with a blatantly dopey look on his face.

"Sorry, must be the wrong place." The kid grinned impishly as he ran off, his pocket heavy with the money that Yugi had given to him. As he began to wonder what to buy with his well-earned money, Yugi looked at the five males with her and rolled her eyes in annoyance.

"Tell me again why was I friends with that moron? Because I am seriously starting to question my lapse in sanity." Yami grinned, pulling his Hikari to his side while throwing a victorious smirk at the other four males he was sitting with, all of whom glared daggers at him.

"I think that might have been my doing, beloved, I find him amusing." Yugi turned to glare at her other half, huffing in annoyance she got up from her seat and walked off, only stopping to throw a rather nasty look over her shoulder at her boys.

"Are you coming or what? I haven't got all day." The quintet looked at each other before rushing to their feet, Bakura throwing some money on the table as they ran after the only woman who showed them any kindness.
