A/N: I haven't played any Silent Hill games even though I'd love to, but I read about James story, how he killed his wife and all, and thought that I might as wall write a short poem about him.

First Silent Hill story, so don't judge too harshly.

The characters belong to the creators of Silent Hill and obviously not to me.

Goodnight

This is what I brought you

This you can keep

This is what I brought

You may forget me

I promise to depart

Just promise one thing

Kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep

- AFI, prelude 12/22

James' POV

I loved to listen to you playing the piano

Warmth fills me whenever I bring those sorrowful and yet beautiful notes

lingering around me back to my mind

The illness took over you and I slowly watched you die

Whose torment do you think was bigger?

There was no way out for me and no hope for you

We both knew it pretty well

So in the end my actions weren't completely unjustified

But they definitely hurt

They hurt so much that I tried to forget

Forget that I kissed you goodnight on the forehead

Before I killed you with my own hands

(Goodnight)

It was your name and your handwriting in that letter

Calling me back towards Silent Hill

Bringing back old repressed memories

(I didn't kill my wife. She died three years ago from that damn illness.)

And maybe this was your final revenge on me

But nevertheless I responded to your call

To the town you cherished so much

I brought your memory lingering like those almost forgotten notes back to my mind when I killed myself in the town of crows and horror and misery

In the town you cherished so much

And that in the end became my final resting place

(Goodnight)

Now I'll say these haunting words once again

As my conscience drifts closer to you

Goodnight, Mary
