He starred at the drink that was in front of him, the noise of the bar tuned out. The alcohol didn't numb the pain his soul was in. If I still have one he thought with a bitter laugh. He knew he looked pathetic but he really didn't care right now.

Steven the name resounded in his numb mind as an image of a blonde-haired, blue eyed boy flashed in his mind. The tears came easy and he looked down so that no one could see him cry. His mind replayed his grandson's final moments, final moments that Jack himself caused. The pain and agony of his mother, Alice, as she watched helplessly as her only son died. What she must think of him, how she must hate him. Just this thought was enough to make Jack take another gulp of his drink.

He nearly choked on the liquid as it burned his throat. The images had changed, instead of a blonde boy, a pretty dark-haired little girl was there. Her blue eyes looking at him adoringly as he spun her around. Her laughter sounded like the sweetest music and he almost nearly genuinely smiled as she ran to him, wrapping her arms around his neck when he picked her up.

I love you, Daddy she whispered in his ear, and a new waves of tears flooded the Captain's cheeks. He was suppose to protect her, not cause her the worst pain in the world. He closed his brilliant blue eyes and once again the images changed.

"Ianto" was the word that escaped his lips, and they burned like acid as he said it. Never was there a sweeter, more loving man than Ianto Jones and the only thing he'd wanted was Jack's love. He'd died for Jack, fighting for the Earth just the same. So much blood was on his hands, so many lives destroyed because of him.

"From the man over there" said the bartender, slipping Jack a note. Looking up Jack saw him right away, the Doctor nodded for him to open the note so the Captain did.

His name is Alonso was all it said. Jack looked questionably at his friend and the Time Lord nodded to the seat beside him. A boy had sat down, a very attractive boy in a military uniform. Jack nearly laughed out loud as he looked up again, the Doctor was gone. Sighing he turned to the boy beside him, who looked nervous.

"Alonso" he said taking a sip from his drink. Alonso looked at him curious.

"How do you know my name?" he asked, Jack laughed as he took his last sip.

"I'm Physic" he said and the boy raised an eyebrow.

"Really? What am I thinking right now?" Jack didn't need to be physic to know what Alonso wanted as he looked him up and down.

"Oh yes" Jack responded and the boy smiled widely.
