I'm back! Sorry it's been awhile since I've updated/posted anything. I blame school!
Anyways, to make up for it, I've decided to write a sequal to Setting Sun! Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I own nothing! Just saying...
Kayla's POV
Ugh.. I hate jetlag.
I'm so glad to be back home! Not that I don't like visiting family- believe me they're something else- it's just that it's not the same as being at my home away from home. Camp Half-Blood.
"I do get to go back, right?" I ask my mom for the a millionth time. She sighs before awnsering, finally.
"We just got back home, can't you wait a day?"
"No! Mom, you promised I could as soon as we got back. We're back aren't we?" I complain.
"Yes bu-"
"And I promised Will and Austin I would go back as soon as possible! You've got to give them some credit for having to wait three whole weeks," I continue, cutting her off.
"What would I be giving them credit for?" she asks. Hades, I think, might as well tell her now. I sigh.
"Mom, you now how about five weeks ago you left to go to New Jersey for a meeting?" I ask.
"Yeah, but how does this apply to our conversation?" she replies.
"Just listen, okay?" I drop my voice to barely a whisper. "This may sound surreal, but while you were gone there was a war. It was between the Gods and the Titans. Demigods fought on both sides. I was on the Gods' side. There was this huge battle between demigods and monsters, and we won. But at the cost of a lot of lifes."
"Why are you just now telling me this?!" Mom whisper/yells at me.
"Because I didn't want you to worry! Anyways, of some of the many casualties were some of my half siblings. A lot of them actually. Of them, my half brothers Micheal Yew and Lee Fletcher," my voice chokes up, "and to make things harder on Will, who took the place of Cabin Counselor, I had to leave for three weeks. Only one week after the war!
"I didn't want to go, and Will and Austin didn't want me to leave either, but I told them I would be back. I looked back right before leaving the cabin and saw their faces. I knew instantly that they thought they were loosing another sibling. I told them to stop thinking like that, but I highly doubt they listened. They probably have been going through a living Hades for three weeks!"
I didn't realize I was crying until my mom wrapped me in a hug.
"I'm sorry Kayla, I didn't know," she says.
"It's okay, I promise," I tell her, very unconvincably too.
"You know what? I'll take you back as soon as we leave, 'kay?" She tells me. I allow a small smile to appear on my face.
"Really?" She nods her head. I hug her tightly, repeatedly thanking her. By the time we got our luggage, she was laughing at me. The ride to camp seemed to take forever, and to top it off there was no conversation. The only noise was the radio blasting 'Blown Away' by Carrie Underwood. I was almost asleep, due to boredom, when Mom shakes me.
"We're here, now go before I drag you up there by your hair," she says playfully. I grin, give her a goodbye hug, grab my luggage and sprint up the hill. As I run downhill I bump into someone, or someones, sending us all rolling down the rest of the way.
"Oh my gods I'm so sorry!" I quickly shout out.
"It's cool, it's cool. Don't worry 'bout it," one of the people I ran into says.
"Wait a minute.. Kayla?!" the other person asks in disbelief. I know those voices anywhere.
"Hey Austin, Will. I'm back," I say grinning.
Fin.
Sorry if you find it boring.. I just has to write it out anyways. I was going to go mad if I didn't write anything!
