The mission

"Magic? You expect me to believe that there is a power out there that ignores the laws of equivalent exchange?" Ed asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes, and you will be going there to research how this is done. You will be there for a full year and I want monthly reports on all your findings. This could be the breakthrough we need to destroy the homunculus once and for all." Roy stated with his usual air of confidence.

"And why choose me?" asked Ed "there are plenty of others who would be more than happy to go and I need to return Al to his body still!"

"Because they need someone who can pass as a 5th year transfer student." After this Roy paused, waiting for the inevitable.

"WHO ARE YOU CALLING SO SHORT THAT ONE RAINDROP COULD DROWN HIM?" Ed yelled.

'hmmmm…that's a new one…' Roy mused before getting back to the topic at hand.

"The only reason their headmaster is allowing this is because he is under the impression that you will be guarding a boy named Harry Potter. Even though this is not your true mission you will be expected to follow through with it to the best of your abilities."

He handed Ed a thick file complete with descriptions of all the noteworthy people in Hogwarts, a general history of magic, and a list of everything he needed to get.

"Read over everything carefully. As stated earlier you will be going there as a transfer student. However you will not have to attend specific classes and you will not be required to write their end of the year exams (OWLS). This gives you freedom to research specific classes and keep tabs Harry Potter. Do you accept Fullmetal?

"Yes sir!" Ed stated with confidence

"Good. Now you will have to research all you can about England before you get there. You have a week to research, finish things up here, and say your goodbyes. I expect you here next Wednesday by 1:00pm sharp! DO NOT be late this time Fullmetal. Oh and you can't bring your brother with you." Roy said with a tone that demanded obedience.

"humph!" and with that Ed stormed out of Roy's office. Form there he ran straight to the library and immediately started researching everything he could about England. He found things on their history, currency, famous places and people, etc. However, no a single book stated anything about magic. This was to be expected since no one had heard of such a thing before.

That's the prologue for you! This is just to get the story started. Can't promise when my next update will be because of exams but hopefully soon! Flames welcome, fav's not expected.

I don't own Full metal Alchemist or Harry Potter. If I did this fanfic would not exist.
