I sat down on my cot after hanging up the telephone.

And I did nothing.

I wanted to do nothing, see nothing, know nothing, hear nothing.

But now I know something.

In fact, I know something, and I know that I'll have to make sure everyone else knows this something too.

Mother and Uncle Ed always said I was a good, polite man. But did they ever say I was strong? For a while I thought being in Korea made me a stronger person. But now I'm starting to think that the tears stinging at my eyes say otherwise.

Now it's my job to walk in the OR and tell everyone the news...

That our Colonel is dead.

*Author's Note- I know this is short, I intended it to be a quick one shot story, unless anyone wants me to continue it.*
