Jackson and Greta are my original characters, but I don't own CSI.
Partially inspired by a video on America's Funniest Videos. I love writing Jackson and Greta stories, and I thought this would be a cute one. Just in time for the opening of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom! Hope you enjoy...and pretty please review!
Shopping with two children could be a challenge, but Morgan had to make a grocery store run after she picked up Jackson and Greta from the Robbins. So they were at one of their favorite stores getting some things for the house.
Greta looked all about the store from the shopping cart, smiling at shoppers and wondering what she and her family were up to. She looked down one aisle and started reaching her arms out. "Ah!" she cried.
Jackson looked down the aisle and wondered what his sister wanted. "What is it, Greta?"
"Eee!" Greta said.
Morgan wondered what her daughter wanted. There weren't any snacks or toys she usually gave her on the aisle. "Sweetheart, what is it?"
"Eee!" Greta shouted again.
Jackson carefully lifted Greta out of the cart. As soon as he set her down, Greta toddled down the aisle. "What is it Greta?" Jackson asked.
"Dada!" Greta said.
Morgan and Jackson looked at each other, confused. Greg was still at the lab. Jackson followed closely behind his sister. "Greta..."
"Dada!" Greta said again.
The baby girl stopped at a display for a movie, and there was a cut-out of Chris Pratt from Jurassic World. Greta pointed up to the display. "Dada!"
Morgan and Jackson fought the urge to laugh out loud. "Greta," Morgan said. "That's not dada."
"Dada!" Greta said again. She seemed convinced that the picture of a movie character was her father.
Jackson laughed. "Greta, that's an actor. It's not daddy!"
Greta, however, was convinced it was Greg. "Dada!" she said as she looked up at the picture.
"No, sweetie," Morgan said.
"Dada!" Greta insisted. She smiled up at the picture like she was proud of herself.
Jackson couldn't help but laugh. "Greta, that's not daddy!"
Greta simply pointed to the display. "Yeah! Dada!"
Morgan couldn't help but laugh. "Sweetie, daddy's at work. That's someone else."
Greta frowned and looked up at the display. "Not dada?"
"No," Morgan said with a soft smile. "That's not daddy."
Greta pouted and looked at her brother. "No dada?"
Jackson took his sister's hand. "He's cool, but our dad's cooler."
"Yeah," Greta said. "We got cool dada."
Greg arrived home just before Morgan and the kids got home from the store. He was getting the mail as they pulled in the driveway.
"Greta," Jackson said as he pointed to Greg. "That's dad."
"Dada!" Greta shouted as she clapped her hands and smiled. As soon as Morgan parked the car, Jackson helped Greta out of her car seat. As soon as he opened the car door, Greta practically jumped into Greg's arms.
"Dada, you at store!" Greta said.
Greg narrowed his brow in confusion as Morgan and Jackson laughed. "She thought she saw you at the store," Jackson said, trying to catch his breath from laughing.
"Yeah!" Greta insisted. "Me see dada!"
"I'm right here, sweet girl," Greg said as he kissed his daughter's cheek.
Morgan laughed and took out her cell phone. "She, um...saw you at the store." Morgan showed Greg video she took of Greta at the store thinking a movie star was her daddy.
Greg watched and laughed when he saw the video of his daughter insisting her dad was the movie star on the display. "My daughter thinks I'm in the movies," he said with a laugh.
Jackson smiled. "But you're way cooler," he said with a smile. "Right, Greta?"
"Yeah!" Greta shouted. She smiled at her father. "You dada!"
"Yeah," Greg said with a smile. "I'm dada."
"Me love you," Greta said as she hugged Greg.
To Greg, his family meant more than any movie or anything. "I love you, too."
The End
