Pamela Isley looked up at the clock on the wall. It was a quarter pass three in the morning. She had been absorbed in her work for the last fifteen hours straight, not stopping even for meals or the occasional milkshakes which Harley had brought in for her – all seven of them.

Pamela sighed as she surveyed the tall glasses laid out neatly in a row on her work bench – she could identify avocado, strawberry, banana, marshmallow, chocolate and two rather dubious flavors which she hoped to the Green were not sardine and tuna salad as she suspected. Harley worried that she worked too hard and ate too little.

Picking up the avocado shake, Pamela slowly sipped a little of the frothy green liquid as she did a quick run through of her notes. It would work, it should work. All the simulations she ran on the computers she had Harley liberate from StarLabs confirmed her hypothesis. It was now all a matter of …..

"Heya Red, you still hiding in there?" A shrill voice rang out suddenly in her ear, causing Pamela to cringe instinctively almost spilling her drink.

Pamela looked up with a frown, annoyed at being so rudely jarred from her thoughts. Harley was standing next to her smiling. The petite blonde was dressed in a pair of low slung hot pants topped with a baby tee which showed off her very taut midriff. Pamela calmly suppressed a shudder of excitement as she reminded herself that Harley was her house guest and a friend. Two of which she had precious little in her life as Poison Ivy.

"Hello Harl," Pamela answered with a worn smiled as she noticed the tall glass filled with a frothy blue suspension in the harlequin's hand carelessly hidden behind her back.

"Ta-Da!! I made you a special one for dessert," Harley beamed as she whipped out her surprise showering her best friend forever with a spray of milkshake droplets.

Carefully the woman who used to be Dr Harleen Quinzel put the special glass next to the others. Despite what Mista J thought about her, she wasn't stupid and she wasn't clumsy. She knew that Pammy was working on something really important and that she needed her work space to be neat and tidy so she wasn't going to spill milkshake over anything, and she meant anything.

"Let me guess, it's the blueberry cheesecake from last night," Pamela remarked dryly as she cocked a suspicious eye at the new addition to the table. She had learned the hard way never and she meant never trust a clown bearing gifts.

"Gee Red, I thought you'll like it," Harley replied her smile slowing fading and falling off her face. "I made all your favorites - green pea soup, grapefruit, oatmeal, angel's food cake…."

Pamela quietly savored the taste of strained peas in her mouth and took another sip from the glass in her hand.

"I like this, but I'm not sure I would like tuna salad in a glass." She replied honestly to her friend. The screwball things she does to make some people happy, she sighs to herself.

"Really? Red," Her voice quavering, the blonde woman looked up, her baby blue eyes wide and questioning like a child's. Ever hopeful that Pammy wouldn't be pulling her leg not like Mista J. "Cross your heart?"

"Yes, Baby" Pamela smiled gently taking that familiar face between her hands, and kissing it.

"And it's squid sushi…..if you want a tuna salad I'll make you one." Harley shyly purred as she put her arms around that slim waist, and pulled that warm soft body into hers.

"I like it when you make me milkshakes."

"Aw Red…….you're the best."
