A/N: Thought of this while listening to 'We Found Love' for some reason. Be warned: it's neither happy nor particularly good. Very OOC and unrealistic, and rather angsty. I like it anyway though. A cookie for you if you can guess the man :)
When he spoke, it was as if he was sharing a well guarded secret with her and only her. He walked into her life one day - despite the both of them knowing each other since she was a child - and suddenly her world was turned upside down. The sun broke though the clouds. The birds never stopped singing. It was different than the first love she experienced. This one did not make her heart burst at the seams from inspiration, but heat ran though her veins. And when he was around, everything else melted but him.
He was charming and handsome and amazing, and who was she? She was drab and mediocre and invisible to everyone. He had a beautiful, brilliant wife with bright green eyes, yet she was still lucky to be with him, they all said. Instead, he wasted his attention on her (never in a million years would anyone have guessed). And she, weak by nature and rejected by the man she had loved since childhood, gave in. She gave him everything. Even when she stuttered in the middle, he told her she was adorable and lovely. And in the dust of it all, she lost her honor and her virtue, and was left with a treacherous seed. She had nothing left to give now. Not even to the life inside her that would never see the light of day.
She knew she did not deserve to die in front of the faces of the great Hokages. That was why the last words she said before she jumped were
"I'm sorry."
To everyone
For everything.
