So here is a little oneshot I thought of while at breakfast with my Aunt and old sister today. I do hope you enjoy. And it is the perfect time I feel to introduce a little guy I've been working on for a few months to you all.
POV Fiona
It was nighttime. I could barely sleep at all.
My unborn son wouldn't stop kicking me.
Well, Hugh and I's unborn son.
Though Hugh didn't know I was alive.
Nor did he know about the baby that was within me.
I pulled off the covers because I couldn't sleep while the baby was kicking me.
A wave of cold from a Rocky Mountain night hit me as I did.
I'd escaped the wights and came to the Rocky mountains after I did.
I was only here about a month when I started to get sick every day in the mornings.
The first couple times I told myself it was the flu and it would pass.
But after about three weeks I knew something was up. And I decided to take a pregnancy test.
It came back with two pink lines.
I cried on the bathroom floor for three hours after I saw those two pink lines.
I was having a baby. Hugh and I's baby. And he was never going to meet the baby.
I stood up and walked over to my bedroom mirror.
I examined my swollen belly. It didn't have any stretch marks on it.
He hadn't stopped kicking yet so I grabbed my sweatshirt and decided to go out for a short walk.
I pulled it on and then grabbed a flashlight walked out the door and started down the wooden trail.
I turned it on and walked down the trail.
I heard crickets chirping their song.
Fireflies floated over moss that grew on dead trees.
The scene was beautiful.
''Hugh would have loved this,'' I thought.
Whenever I walked out here alone.
It would always remind me of when Hugh and I would walk in the garden during the nighttime back on Cairnholem.
And it was during one of those walks just before Jake came that Hugh and I had a little.
Well. A little secret rendezvous in the garden.
And that was the night I suppose I became pregnant with Hugh and I's son.
I continued walking down the dirt trail the flashlight guiding me.
I expected to find the tree stump where I always sat after walking to be empty as always.
But I heard a light snoring coming from the spot.
''That's bizarre,'' I thought,'' no one's ever here,''.
I shined my flashlight onto the source of the snoring.
The perpetrator was a lanky boy with russet brown hair and hazel eyes.
''Hugh,'' I whispered.
Not a budge. Not a muscle moved.
''Hugh,'' I whispered again this time a bit louder.
''What?!'' asked Hugh groggy and slightly upset from being awoken.
''Hugh it's really me. Fiona,'' I said.
He rubbed his eyes. As though trying to grasp if I was real or unreal and just a figment of his imagination.
''Fi!'' he shouted shooting up and wrapping me up in his arms before kissing me on the lips.
This got the baby excited as he kicked my stomach very roughly.
''Hugh there's something I really need to tell you,'' I said after our lips parted.
''What is it?'' he asked.
''I, I mean. WE are having a baby boy,'' I said.
Hugh stepped back.
''You gotta be kidding me, Fi! Just kidding I'm so happy!'' he said running in for a hug.
''You mean it?'' I said in near disbelief.
''Yes. I'll stay with you and our son no matter what happens,'' said Hugh.
''What's our baby's name?'' asked Hugh.
''Well he doesn't have a first name yet. But his middle name is Finnegan,'' I explained.
''How about Hunter for his first name?'' asked Hugh.
''Hunter Finnegan Apiston. That's perfect,'' I said before Hugh drew me in for another kiss.
''I love you,'' I whispered.
''I love you too and our son yet to be born,'' Hugh whispered back.
