He didn't know how he came into this world.
He didn't knew who his parents were. He was adopted by gypsies, and for most of his young life lived behind a cage. He couldn't recall a single friend who stood beside him... All because of the scar on his face.
He still remembered the jeers and taunts that were thrown at him as a child. He hid from the world. To hide from the pain and the sorrow. He hid to hide the shame.
He hid, so he wouldn't have to feel.
The one person who understood him, saw all of him betrayed him by revealing his face to the world.
Now everybody knew the true him. There was no place he could hide. The Opera House went down with the fire along with him.
But he wasn't going to hide anymore. If people feared him, let them fear him. An empty childhood wasn't going to define him, nor the loneliness he felt for all his life.
For now, he was going to let it go.
