A Scarecrow's Dream
There were no sounds,
There was no life,
Except for the sea of gold ,
And the creatures of the night.
I swayed silently,
To the dance o f the wind,
A smile etched upon me,
Though it's not what I feel...
The world moves,
But with me not in it,
I long to be free,
With no binds on my feet.
To twirl, to jump,
To do as I please,
Not to follow the wind,
In its hollow melody.
A smile etched upon my face,
Sewn by the hands that bound me,
Can't she hear my call?
Can't she hear my plea?
I long to be free,
To be merry and sad,
To be angry and calm
To be good and be bad.
I long to be free,
To show you how I feel,
For now all I want
~ Is no sorrow,
For now all I want
~ Is to weep.
