Sorry to Mike AZ 2 for slacking off so much with my FFIV fic but I have writer's block over that at the moment. ¬_¬ For now I'm going to try thinking of a dancing scenario for Calca and Brina and do a fiction for Emperor Mateus and Ultimecia to curb my obsession with DFF. Slightly psychological but nothing serious. Enjoy!
For Emperor Mateus there was nothing like a good plot. He had woven it so intricately and skilfully that not even Gabranth, that stray dog who advised Chaos on important matters and watched over everyone's activities with all-knowing eyes, would be able to see it.
According to his plan, Cosmos would suffer absolute death, and Shinryu would not interfere by reviving her as he usually did. Chaos would discover too late that he had killed the woman he used to love, and he and Garland would sink into despair, not even noticing it when the villains acted of their own volition and abandoned them. Then the Warrior of Light and his little friends would come forth destroy the villains (excluding him) while he hung around in safety deep in the bowels of Hell.
Absorbing fell power on incredible levels and returning in glory, he would then kill each of them, one by one. Of course, he would end with Firion, the foolish rebel who insisted on opposing him. That personal victory would be a small touch to add when he, Mateus, killed Gabranth and Garland before putting the boot into Chaos and becoming a god himself.
Mind you, since he would bethe last standing piece on the board, it would be a lonely existence, not to mention boring. His schemes would all be rendered blunt as there would be no one to manipulate and no one to rule either. Good grief that would be bad. He had no one he trusted enough to live under his rule, though. That was Mateus' excuse. A poor one, but no one would dare say that to him when he rose to prominence over all things. He'd show that smart ass Exdeath a thing or two, and teach Golbez to be a double-agent. He'd pay every gil in his pocket to see the reaction of Garland, who thought himself too good for the rest of the posse, cower in fear and blub pathetically at Mateus' feet.
But what of Ultimecia?
He'd never given her that much thought. He wondered why. They certainly had the most in common. Both socially dysfunctional; both seeking domination over the world; both enjoyed verbally tormenting their opponents and making them humiliated in the eyes of their friends; and naturally, they were both people who had a lithe, graceful, stylish, if arrogant and exaggerated, battle style. None too shabby.
Mateus was never, ever, ever, EVER going to admit it out loud, but he had a certain begrudging respect for the time-witch, leaky wench that she was. He also had an uncharacteristic affection for Ultimecia. He didn't know quite what it was, but just thinking about her as a woman was enough to make his skin crawl, and while he was subtly afraid of her, she also turned him on too.
Maybe she would make a good queen. Mateus liked the sound of that. The self-righteous Warriors of Chaos would be laid to waste and the Warriors of Cosmos, even though they lived charmed existences thanks to their crystals, would be thrown off the board. The White Side removed successfully and the Black lines thinned out, the Black King and Queen would reign supreme. Absolute Dominion. Complete and utter Order.
The Emperor of Palamecia smirked wickedly. Despite the present circumstances, for once, things were looking quite well.
