Wizarding Royalty

I needed to write a Ron/Hermione, after I realised that I had never done so. They were my first ship, for crying out loud!

Disclaimer: I, like, Jo Rowling, will go down with this ship.

Ron Weasley may have been proud of his title of King from his fifth year onwards, but there was never a happier day in his life than when he married Hermione Granger.

"Oi, you know what this means, don't you?" Harry, the best man, directed at Hermione over his glass of wine. With a smirk, he finished, "You, my friend, are now the Queen."

The Gryffindor Quidditch team from their school days, every one of them familiar now with the story of how Hermione had Confunded a contender at tryouts, all broke into a rousing chorus of the song, replacing words as they went:

Weasley is our Queen,
Weasley is our Queen,
She didn't let McLaggen win,
Weasley is our Queen!

Ron looked tenderly at his new wife, laughing hysterically at the new lyrics.

In the maternity ward at St. Mungo's, Ron and Hermione looked down upon their beautiful baby girl.

"Hermione," Ron asked, happy with the name but genuinely curious. "Why did you want to name her Rose?"

"Oh." Hermione blushed, and Ron knew that it would be something nerdy. "The Wars of the Roses have always been fascinating to me, the two royal houses fighting for the throne – "

"I think it's perfect," Ron cut her off (and closely missing a long dissertation, he knew), kissing his baby Rose on the forehead. "She'll be our princess."

Two years later, Ron and Hermione were joined in the same room by a little boy. They decided not to name him just yet, that it would come to them, so they simply sat for a while, thinking.

Ron rubbed his son's sleeping head, chuckling.

"If nothing else, we can name him Severus Albus," he suggested with a smirk.

"What?" Hermione asked, incredibly confused.

"I was just thinking," Ron laughed. "If I'm a pureblood, and you're a Muggleborn, that makes our kids half-bloods."

"Well, what's so funny about that?" Hermione prompted.

"And if I'm the King, and you became the Queen when you married me, we've got ourselves a little Half-Blood Prince!"

Hermione looked at him stonily. Ron cleared his throat and went back to thinking of a good name for their son.
