I've had this idea in my head for a while and i decided to put in on paper. This is the result. I hope you like it. :)

The song I would reccomend for this is The Sword and the Pen by Regina Spektor. The song is beautiful and it was the song I listened while writing this.

Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter nor Regulus Black. Lena Dolohov is, however, my OC.

Title: Forgotten

Characters: Regulus Black, Lena Dolohov(OC).

Pairing: Regulus BlackxLena Dolohov

Summary: „A couple of days went by before Lena Dolohov realised that Regulus Black wasn't coming back. When did she truly accept it?...Never, to be honest." What, or who, exactly did Regulus leave behing when he left for the cave where he spent the last moments of his life, giving away his own life for he greater good.

...-...-...-...

Regulus' fingers traced her jaw, her pale cheeks... So beautiful, so perfect. Her eyes were closed, she was asleep. It was better that way. You can't worry when you're asleep. Slowly, careful not to wake her up, he slid out of the bed and put his clothes on. She stirred in her sleep while he was buttoning up his shirt.

„Reg? ...Don't go...," he started panicking, praying that she was just mumbling in her sleep...Luckily for him, whatever higher power was on duty that day decided to have some mercy. Her eyes were still closed.

He leaned over her, his face almost touching hers. Hesitantly, he gave her a gentle kiss on the forehead.

„I love you, Lena."

He loved her, it wasn't questionable, but he had to leave. He had to go on a suicide mission.

Storing his wand in his boots, he closed the bedroom door behind him. He knew he wasn't coming back, but he made peace with that. It was her that woried him. She was his fiancee, it surely wouldn't be easy for her in the beggining. Later on, he assured himself, she would get over him, forget all about him...

Of course, that would be the best for her, and yet, he didn't want to be forgotten. He wanted her to remember him forever, to never let go. And that disgusted him. Surely, love couldn't be this selfish...

Couldn't, shouldn't and wouldn't. Determently, he walked towards the apartment doors, his hand already on the handle when he stopped.

An image suddenly popped into his head. Lena was in the park, surrounded by two children and a man. The look they had on their faces broke his heart. They were in love. The feeling was obvious by the way they smiled, looked at each other, touched...

Acting on complete impulse, he entered the bedroom again, took off his family ring and put it on the bedside table. Knowing fully well that he was being selfish, he rushed out of the apartment before he could have time to change his mind. And off he went into the cool, dark night, off to do the right thing. Even if it was going to cost him his life.

OoOoO

Toujours Pur. The words ingraved in the silver ring gleamed under the light of a green lamp.

She stared at it. Why in the name of Merlin would he leave his ring there? It usually never left his finger. So why was it there? Why was it left on the bedside table with its owner nowhere to be seen?

Worried and confused, she decided to wait for him to return.

A couple of days went by before Lena Dolohov realised that Regulus Black wasn't coming back.

When did she truly accept it? ...Never, to be honest.
