Bridget: Secrets Revealed

I've Got A Theory

Diana Lombard had become very good friends with Bridget Suevi over the past few weeks. Brigette had only transferred to Torrington Academy recently, but settled in quickly.

Already, she was in honors classes, on the basketball and volleyball teams; she was elected for student council, and was part of the drama club. Yes, Bridget had become very well liked at Torrington. But Diana had noticed something strange about her.

At random, and very inopportune points in the day, Bridget would disappear. During basketball practice, she would leave to get her water bottle, and wouldn't come back. During drama, she would leave to go to the nurse's office. In the middle of volleyball games, she would run off.

No one really questioned it until one day…

"Martin!"

"Oh, hey Diana!"

"Listen, can I talk to you about something?"

Martin suddenly became concerned. Diana, his stepsister, never came to him for advice. The two were very different. Martin was edgy and spontaneous, while Diana was orderly and a bit of a perfectionist. In fact, the only thing the two had in common was their job at the Center.

"Alright. What's on you mind?"

"It's about my friend Bridget…"

"What do you mean? I thought that you two were getting along really well!"

"We are, but… I get the feeling that she's hiding something. I don't know if you've noticed, but she tends to disappear a lot. Like, the other day, we were taking our calculus midterm and she said she wasn't feeling well so she went to the nurse's office. But she never came back."

"She probably just stayed there the rest of the day."

"No… I went to see her after, but the nurse said she was never there! And she wasn't in her room after!"

"Huh… Now that I think about it, I asked her out the other day and she told me she couldn't and ran off. It must be connected! Who wouldn't want to go out with a guy like me?"

Diana smirked. She was about to tell him that he tends to have to opposite effect on the girls at Torrington, but then quickly realized that he was actually taking this serious, so she shouldn't destroy the moment.

"It's kind of worrying me though. Should I talk to her about it or…"

Suddenly, a loud, beeping sound interrupted Diana's banter.

"The Center!" They exclaimed in unison. They then entered a portal in the school courtyard, after finding Java, and did a quick identification check.

"Martin Mystery. Clear. Diana Lombard. Clear. Java the Caveman. Clear." The ID scanner stated.

Right after some routine scans, they were greeted by Billy.

"Hey Billy!"

"Hi Diana! Hi guys!"

"Hey Billy! Gimme five!"

After the usual secret handshake, Java joined in the fun.

"Billy! Java give five too!"

Java and Billy then did the handshake as well, causing all three to laugh and Diana to let out her usual disgusted groan.

"So Billy!" Martin said, "We haven't heard from you lately. Where've you been?"

"Sorry, Marty! I've been training our new addition to the Center, Agent Suevi!"

Diana had heard that name before. "A… Agent Suevi?" She stammered.

"Yep! Right through here!"

As M.O.M.'s office doors opened, they saw a girl about their age standing at M.O.M.'s desk. She was wearing a bright red skirt with a golden, Oriental flower print skirt over a short, black, sleeveless dress. She had dark, brown hair that was fairly longer than Diana's, with two sections nearest to her face pulled back into a bun at the back of her head. The hair that was left down blew around her slender body as she turned to greet them.

"Agents!" Said M.O.M., "Good! You're here! I'd like you to meet your new teammate… Bridget!"
