Repercussion
Pairing:
Ehe, yet again, the obvious wink... no, not the same as The
Ambiguity of Love
Rating:
Ehh... Well, I suck at ratings. G, I think.
Summary:
Oishi remembers.
Disclaimer:
Tenisu no Oujisama is not of my property. Otherwise, I wouldn't think
of stupidly placing in here a disclaimer. No, you know what? It's
mine. Spits at the sarcasm I had set
Auth's Note:
Another pairing.. I don't know why I still write. I'm extremely
rusty now. Oh well. BTW, this will be a bit...
Multichaptered. Argh, why bother telling you? Oh, and I will try not
to use mixed-up Japanese, okay with you people?
Oh, and warning: Prepare for VERY BAD WRITING.
Oishi remembers.
He remembers the first time he had played tennis, the first time he wins, the first time the first time he enters a school, a school called Seishun Gakuen, he remembers joining the tennis club, he remembers befriending Tezuka, he remembers being oppressed, he remembers his promise to Tezuka...
He remembers the time he bumped into this stranger he never knew, he remembers that bright red hair, he remembers the surprise he got when he found out that the stranger he met before was now joining the club.
He remembers playing with him, that newcomer, Kikumaru Eiji, he remembers how it stunned him, the way he played, the way he, Oishi, won over the boy, and if he rememebered anything from the boy during that match, it was the attitude he had whilst accepting his defeat.
He remembers training again, after school, in that green container near the mountain-place, and he remembers seeing Kikumaru Eiji again, and he remembers the oath he makes: 'Untl the day I defeat you, I will play Doubles with you!'
The rest after that was a blur, however, and all he remembers was being a Regular in the Ranking tournament. He also remembers consecutive wins by the Golden Pair, and all that fuss.
Then came their final year in Seigaku.
If anything, it was the most dramatic event in his life. He never knew that he can change so much in one year—so little time. What had saddened him all the more so is the fact that he and Eiji had argued quite a bit more than usual, and it usually ended up in such a mess—the result was usually that they most likely forgot or tried to forget about the problem, and yet in the depths of their hearts, they still remember about it.
Not a single apology was said. Neither was an 'it-was-okay' said. Possibly, they go on about their life being the Golden Pair, and yet they do not realize that the Golden Pair is being distanced a several thousand miles every single day.
He still remembers the look he found on Eiji's face when he found out that Oishi was going somewhere in Europe to study and take his doctorate. He still remembers Eiji being quiet in that party right after Graduation, and he remembers Fuji's word of advice that day:
"I suggest that you talk to him now—he's in a mental state of panic as it is,"
Fuji, being Eiji's best friend, never seized to let anything slip past him, and never let Eiji hide anything from him. So if that was the case, then Fuji definetely knows what he, indeed, is talking about.
He remembers saying goodbye to all his friends in the airport that day, he remembers saying goodbye to Tezuka, a really close friend of his, he rememebers saying goodbye to the Regulars, he remembers getting a 'best-of-wishes' from several people from the team.
He remembers how the person who he wanted to see the most was not there, and neither was he at home (according to his siblings). He remembers never getting the chance to say the truth, the absolute truth, in which involves only six words. Six simple words used in everyday language, taken for granted, yet to him, those were the most important words that ever was--
I'm sorry.
I love you.
Goodbye.
