A/N: This is a fanfic for Hanako To Guuwa No Teller, or Hanako And The Terror Of Allegory, a pretty good horror manga I've been reading for a while.

I'm listening to "Bohemian Rhapsody" on repeat. That is all.

"Hanako," Kanae called. The girl peeked out the door.

"What~"

"Come out and help me." Hanako jumped down from her perch and walked out to where Kanae was baking.

"What are you making?" Hanako pulled a chair over so she could reach the counter and peered into the bowl.

"Um, I'm going to make a birthday cake. For Asou-san." Kanae blushed.

"You really like him, huh?" Hanako asked, not without a hint of jealousy in her voice, as Kanae handed her some eggs to crack.

Kanae didn't answer. Hanako cracked the eggs viciously. "Stupid eggs. Stupid birds. I hate animals."

Kanae thought back to their conversation. "They can't see you," she murmured.

"They're stupid. I wish they'd all die."

"Don't say that, Hanako!" Then Kanae realized how angry Hanako looked. "Ohhhh, I know what this is about. You like Asou-san too, don't you? I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said anything, huh?"

Hanako looked puzzled. "But, I don't like him. Not like you do, anyway. I only like humans. He's half-human."

"Oh." Kanae was the confused one now. "Then why are you jealous?"

"I'm not jealous of you, stupid, I'm jealous of him!" And before she could stop herself, she reached out with eggy hands, grabbed Kanae's face, and kissed her.

Kanae drew in her breath quickly. She felt her face heating up. Hanako was still kissing her; at first it had been almost fierce but now it was gentler. Hanako pressed closer to Kanae, and without realizing it, Kanae put her arms around Hanako, deepening the kiss.

Suddenly they heard the door open and broke apart quickly. "I'm home," called Asou.

Hanako went back to cracking her eggs, but not before whispering, "I like humans best."
