The sound of heavy breathing, similar to that of an Olympian after an event, drowned out the silence Watanabe was striving for. The supposedly calming sound of faint pencil taps and paper shuffling were worthless as she could feel the warm breeze that passed by her cheek.
Ignore it. She thought. It likes it when you react.
Just as the thought crossed her mind, the text book she had been working form flew off the table, quickly followed by every other stack of paper and her cup filled with pencils.
The air had gotten colder, and, just as the puffs of air had sopped, a loud screech filled the air. One that probably would have deafened her if she hadn't heard it every single day for the past two months.
Ignore it. She thought. You have an exam tomorrow.
