A poem I wrote a few months back in response to In Darkness. POEM!

In Light

They say go to the darkness instead of the light,

I will not listen to their advice about it,

I'll run to the light instead of darkness,

I know what I'm looking for in the light,

Something the darkness cannot provide,

I'm looking for him and I know he'll be there,

He's my angel of darkness in the light,

I'll spread my wing and embrace him,

Wings over his own to protect him from death,

But sometimes he'll wonder if I protect death from him,

My hands will still his movements with just a touch,

My eyes will shorten his breath with a gaze,

Though we are in the light and alone together,

He's sure that I'll protect him from pain,

And he's sure that he'll protect me from the dark,

Our scars will fade and disappear from sight,

Our heartaches will be forgotten like the light,

But first, I must start my journey in the light,

Only to find my angel of pure darkness.
