A/N: I've always wanted to do a sea-longing poem, and I finally got the courage to do it. It's such a multi-faceted thing so I'm not sure if this will span the whole entirety of it. I wrote this from Legolas' POV, but you could use any elf you wanted to.
Disclaimer: Obviously I own nothing.
White Shores
I've been called to it's beauty,
It's gentle song,
Surrounded by peace and serenity,
I'm not sure if I can wait for long.
How can something seemingly so calm
Cause pain and turmoil within me
Leaving me uncertain and tearing at my soul,
It's the calling, the longing for the sea,
It twists this world into a cold,
Turbulent whirlwind as far as I can see.
Twisting reality into a nightmare,
Every day my soul waits
For the day I will reach the shore
That calls me to it like wide-open gates.
What happened to those peaceful walks under the trees,
The song of the waterfalls,
They have turned into a melody
That seems to mock the call
That my soul is desperately searching to find
A peace of mind.
But I cannot find it here,
Not on these shores,
Not until I see the water that is so clear,
And the harbor
That will end my last journey
And bring me home.
