A short poem about Zero and Yuuki, this is meant to be their thoughts in Chapter 46 when Zero kisses her. Hope it conveys what I thought they felt and hope you like it :P. THE FORMATTING OF THIS KILLED ME! It is nothing how the original looks like! If you want to see what it's kind of supposed to look like head over to my DA account (kind of because DA wouldn't let me format it correctly either grrrr...). It's meant to be read as two separate poems. Zero's point of view and Yuuki's. They are SUPPOSED to be side by side, both starting with the first line and both ending with "Goodbye" and they are supposed to match up with each other perfectly as well, as in they have the same amount of lines and the 1st line of both are at the same place and the last line of both are at the same place, but nooooo, it just wouldn't let me do that now would it? Apparently this thing doesn't like more than 1 space between letters(which is reasonable, but just not suitable for the purposes of this poem). So I had to do it like this. Zero's part of the poem is at the left side of the page and Yuuki's is in the middle. They are both bolded and underlined respectively. But you know what? I kind of like this layout too. I just hope you guys aren't confused, though if you want to read it as one big poem, go ahead, be my guest. I think it's pretty cool that way too, because funnily enough it makes sense that way too. Anyway rant over. Time to read! I hope you enjoy it! :D p.s. should the end of Zero's be Lonely or Alone. It was originally alone, but I changed it to lonely and I'm not really sure about that.
Zero
Yuuki
Your clear eyes stare at me
they waver from within
bottomless depths
My heart lying asleep
I can hear the dull throb
throbs slowly
echoing emptily
each beat in time to your ragged breath
Each step backward
My hands burn
frays the thread
as your warmth fades away
Your fingers, still warm in mine
The light in my heart flickers
turn ice-cold
going out,
slipping from my grasp,
A weak candle in the wind
Falling away
It plunges me into an ice-cold darkness
the cold surrounds me
I can only feel with my hands
No! I scream and shout
and weep for what I have lost.
I'm not leaving, I don't want to
Alone,
No! Can't you hear me?
Your lips leave mine
No! Don't you understand?
Alone,
No! I don't want to...no...please
Eyes burning with unshed tears
I want to stay...here...with you.
Alone,
The darkness swallows
The hands in mine are gone
until the only thing left
Alone,
is the memory of your eyes,
The last promise meaningless,
-sharp, clear, beloved-
Alone,
and the feel of your warm lips on mine
Oh so Alone, as you whisper your last
saying Goodbye.
Goodbye.
