Dearest Regan,
Seattle is…what can I say; Seattle is everything I imagined it would be when I decided to move out here with Teri Lynn. And, Re, It's not just because I do not receive second glances, but because I no longer surrender to them. I am so happy to have someone other than you to lean on for support and friendship. All those years took a toll on you and while I will be forever grateful to you, I knew I had to move forward and free you from carrying the weight of my life. Anyway, I do not want this letter to turn into a tearful fest. So, let me share with you everything that has been going on with me. Re, Teri Lynn lives in this gorgeous condo, it is absolutely chic. Teri has shown me around and I love it here. There is this one fun place, called The Chloe that she goes to hang out. Re, it's a transgender hot spot. Can you believe it? Who knew places like this existed. I am meeting new people too, Re. Cassandra and Ava are two of Teri Lynn's friends; they are T-girls, she met them both at this support group at the Gender Identity Center here in Seattle. They are both supportive and open about their transitioning experiences. Cassandra has been living as a woman for exactly six years. I could not believe she ever was a male to begin with. Ava, like Teri Lynn began the process over two years ago. Now, it's my turn, my time.
Re, I feel like I am in a dream, except it is real, it is my life! It is everything a girl could ever dream for. Teri was able to set me up with her therapist and I am beginning my process in two weeks. Well the first stage, my living as a woman for two years. It feels so good to write that, I am beginning my process. I finally feel free and I am ready to embrace the next chapter, and whatever it has in store for me.
Always,
your sister Luna.
