Back when the Coates kids first came to Perdido Beach, Diana did a reading on me.
Two bars she told Caine.
Since then I've wondered what my powers were, but they never really showed.
Until now.
It's been almost a year in the FAYZ, and my supposed dead little brother, Little Pete, helped me figure it out.
Apparently, I can make some sort of protective shield around me, and sometimes I can stretch it out to include a few other people inside it.
That's a pretty useful power, if I say so myself.
I don't have to worry about being whipped to death by Drake anymore. No mutations can affect my protective shield. It's impenetrable. Not even Sam's power can get through mine. Sam wants me to test it out with Dekka and Caine, to see if they can move it a bit. I doubt they'll be able to.
Not even Little Pete can get through my shield. And he's one of the two most powerful beings in the FAYZ.
Sam wants me to try and see if I can create a protective shield and just leave it without straining myself with my power, kind of like what he does with his so called Sammy Suns.
I've been trying to practice that. It's pretty hard, but I think I can do it. I practice whenever I have time to, so basically whenever I'm not talking to Sam or anyone else, or measuring the stain on the dome. I've seen a bit of improvement in it, so I'm 95% sure that it will work. I hope it works.
Sam wants to go back to Perdido Beach with me tomorrow to warn Caine about the stain and darkness. Sam was planning on creating a bunch of Sammy Suns all over Perdido Beach, so they could at least have more light than they did before when the darkness strikes. I think Sam may be planning to tell Caine about my powers too, so if I ever find a way to make those shields, I can make one for Lake Tramonto and Perdido Beach. I guess I'd have to make one for Clifftop too, especially since Lana and Patrick stay there. I've also heard that she let Sanjit and his family move in. He must be getting real close to her, she's never let anyone stay there with her.
I stopped thinking. I noticed I just made a shield around myself and the lake, without trying to maintain it. Oh my god! I got it! I have to report this to Sam!

I smiled when I saw what my sister had accomplished. However, that smile turned upside down when I realized I wasn't the only one who noticed. My nemesis - the gaiaphage, noticed this too.
