Chapter 1- "I am you" [Prologue]
"…I am you…"
Those three words from an unknown voice were whispered into Tsubasa's ears with a dead silent tone, the shear suddenness of it making a chill run down the back of his spine under his robe.
"…So why don't you come here…" The voice breathed out again.
"…You know you want to…"
"…Don't you want to figure out the mystery…?"
"…You want the power, don't you…?"
It came once again, in different raspy tones with each statement. Then came a flash. Tsubasa tensed up and narrowed his eyes at the old rusty mirror, thinking for a moment he saw the mirror shake and lighten up.
"…Well…?"
"What are you?" Tsubasa demanded in a quiet, quivering voice. He was soaking wet, drops of water dripping from the dull cave ceiling above, his silver hair hanging down straight from being moist.
"…I am you…"
This time a dark shadow of himself appeared in the rusty, fogged up mirror. Tsubasa looked at it in surprise. The shadow looked just like himself, a shade of purple, eyes glowing red, a smirk crooked on his face.
"What…" Tsubasa trailed off.
The voice seemed to be mimicking himself.
"…I am you…"
"…I am you…"
"…I am you…"
"No," Tsubasa spoke, this time firmly. "I am me. There is only one me."
The shadow put his hand up against the inside of the mirror. "Are you sure about that?"
Tsubasa shook his head. "How is this even possible?" he asked, mostly to himself, reluctantly putting his hand up to the glass in the same area that the shadow was.
"That's just it…" The shadow's smirk grew much larger.
Shattered. The glass broke into multiple pieces, the smallest piece flying off the mirror stand and cutting Tsubasa's cheek.
"…It isn't…"
He felt himself being dragged into the darkness left behind from the shattered mirror, everything he knew suddenly vanishing from his mind.
Why was he even here…?
