Explosions bursting in the air - Katsuki Bakugou is pissed and wants the heavens to feel his rage.
Once upon a time, he was in love. Not that puppy crush shit, but love. True love. The love that takes eons to build. The love that makes you pray when you have never prayed before. The love where you are willing to sacrifice yourself and actually mean it.
That love.
Once upon a time, Katsuki Bakugou was in love with a boy named Izuku Midoriya. They were childhood friends, and thus intertwined in one each other's fates. But threads began to unravel and life begins to get difficult and there is soon no more "friendship". That concept is gone, dead. Katsuki knew where they both went wrong (but it was mainly him that went wrong, because Katsuki Bakugou does a lot of shit wrong and hates that he couldn't admit it until now).
They have ended. A story cut abruptly before it could reach the stunning climax. And whereas Izuku's story has began again with another, Katsuki's remained unfinished, a sentence left hanging on his lips.
The explosions slam against the night sky. Pretty and desperate. The rage is still there. The rage is always there. Never-ending, always fueled by sadness and regret and why did I fuck that up and why couldn't I just say "I love you"? Why, why, why?
He finds himself screaming his thoughts into the dry air. They echo, and response is never given (and it never will be).
Once upon a time, Katsuki Bakugou was in love.
But that time has ran out.
i should take the moment to write some actually happy bakudeku fam.
