It was a beautiful summer day when--

"Ronald, you fly quite well, you know." Luna glanced at Ron over the top of her copy of the Quibbler as he passed by alone.

The sun shone so brightly overhead that Ron had to squint through the blazing white rays to make out Luna's bulging, blue eyes, which were directed at him serenely.

Ron frowned, "Er--thanks."

"Oh, yes, and its especially impressive considering the conditions of the pitch last game. You know, with all of the Dingershopplers flying about and all."

"The dinger--what?"

Luna sighed dreamily, "They do like the summer breezes. Best time for mating, you know."

Ron just nodded, glancing from side to side to make sure no one had seen them together. "Er, Luna, what are you doing he--"

"You have beautiful eyes."

Ron blinked. Luna smiled quietly at him, laying aside her copy of the Quibbler and stared unabashedly.

"Well--that's--er, I mean..." Ron looked once again from side to side, more noticibly now.

Luna tilted her head sideways slightly, scooting closer to him. "Do I make you nervous, Ronald? Sometimes I do that to people," she glanced at him curiously, her hot pink rabbit tail earrings swinging absently in the wind. Her smile never faltered.

Ron for some reason felt his ears become quite hot. He coughed, waving his hands in a "no"ish fashion, and prepared himself to speak, but for some reason he couldn't stop coughing. His ears turned an even darker shade of red, and his eyes watered. Luna rose calmly from the bench, and raised her hand as though to slap him on the back, but instead began tickling him from the right side of his neck. Completely caught off guard, Ron collapsed into a fit of broken laughter, between the coughs, and his cheek and shoulder clamped instinctively around Luna's hand in self defense. Luna's eyes lit with amusement, and she stepped backwards just enough to watch him recover from his shock.

Ron wiped his eyes from the residue of tears and when the last breath of laughter left him, he was left staring right back at Luna with a sort of surprised confusion settling on his features. Ron smiled slightly, picking up his fallen books. Luna retrieved her edition of the Quibbler which had fluttered off the stone bench, sat down, and raised it into her vision, obscuring her from Ron's sight.

Ron shrugged his satchel over his shoulder, "Um--Luna?"

Luna glanced at Ron over the top of her newspaper, her eyes veiled with the same dreamy look she normally adapted. Ron swallowed back the sudden urge he had to tell her something. Something he didn't even know how to put to words. Instead, he glanced down at his feet quickly, and, spotting a fallen sugar quill, he dived to pick it up, glad for a distraction, and handed it to a pleasantly surprised Luna. She still had her oddly focused glance on him. Realizing how stupid he must look, Ron cleared his throat awkwardly. Say something! He thought.

"Luna, you--you are... I mean, you know--"he spread his arms lamely, feeling even more like an idiot than before, "You don't make me nervous." he settled, " For the record."

Having enough of this awkward moment to last him a lifetime, Ron rushed off with a nod to Luna and a mumbled "bye" in her general direction, utterly red in the ears. Luna smiled wildly, as she turned the pages of the Quibbler. Some things were nice to know.
