A/N: This is just scene I had fun writing a few years back. Enjoy!
"Edmund?" Asked Lucy Pevensie, her brow knit in thought. "What do you suppose It'll be like after Susan marries Prince Rabadash?" She was sprawled across one of the red velvet couches that decorated their guest chambers. Edmund sighed in mock exhasperation, but he couldn't hide his smile. He was closest to Lucy out of all his siblings, it had been that way ever since they discovered Narnia.
"Will there never be an end to your questions, Lu?" He groaned playfully. She grinned up at him and shook her head, long hair tossing about.
"Not unless I physically cannot ask them." Edmund shook his head, resigned to forever answer his sister's questions.
"I suppose we'll go back to Cair Paravel and everything will resume as it always was, except for Susan fussing over us all of the time. I think Rabadash's a good man though, and more importantly, I think he really loves Susan. Don't you?" Lucy fingered her brown hair, separating the strands from one another.
"I suppose." She finally replied. "Something about him irks me though. Maybe he's just a bit too stiff really. He takes his princely duties quite seriously. Though Susan does as well..." She muttered, mostly to herself. Edmund couldn't resist his chance to tease her.
"Aw, your just jealous is all! It's obvious you'd hoped that Rabadash would fall for you instead." Lucy blushed and protested.
"I do not! I'm perfectly happy for Susan." Edmund continued on with the ruse.
"But he's so handsome with his dark eyebrows and chiseled features. Has a bit of a rugged air about him. Surely you can't deny that?"
"I certainly can!" Yelled Lucy as she shot up off the couch. "Rubbish, I don't envy Susan at all. Sounds like your a bit jealous he didn't fall in love with you! Rugged indeed!" She glared into Edmunds dark eyes as if daring him to disagree.
"Whatever you say." He shrugged in an unconvincing way. Her face turned even redder and she was about to say something rather rude when the double doors burst open. Peter stood there, entirely out of breath. His green velvet doublet was undone and his hair was in a disarray. Edmund and Lucy both stared at him, waiting to hear what on earth could have brought him running.
"It's happened." He breathed. "He's asked her!" They all stood silent for a moment and then Edmund and Lucy began to talk at once.
"Who's asked-"
"Rabadash and Su-"
"Asked what?" Peter cut them off, irritated.
"Prince Rabadash's asked Susan to marry him. Just now."
"He's gone and done it!" Edmund whistled. "Bit hasty, don't you think?" Lucy ignored him.
"Well what did she say, Peter? Heaven's sakes, tell us!"
"Well of course she's accepted! Been waiting a while for this. And there is to be a feast, in celebration, tonight." Lucy plopped down onto the couch, blowing out her breath.
"Susan married, think of it!" She mused to no one in particular. Edmund grinned.
"The jealousy's really kicking in now, isn't it?" Lucy shot him a positively vile look and crossed her arms across her chest.
