Marinette always smelled so sweet and yet that wasn't even the end of it. His girlfriend lived in a bakery, and so often she was baking with her parents and Nino had to jump in and help.

It's something that he's long since came to associate with her, learning to bake, and baking with her. Nino could barely bake chocolate chip cookies a year before they started dating and while music and filming were his specialty, decorating was his weakness. He wasn't good at it at all, but he had learned to bake cupcakes, macarons, cookies, and many other baked goods from scratch.

There was one thing way sweeter than the sweets at Marinette's family's bakery; it was the girl in question. The girl that Nino had slowly but surely fallen in love with. What was not to love from her usual kindhearted personality to her awkward shyness when it came to their first kiss or even other things like holding hands as a couple for the first time to how jawdroppingly sweet kissing her felt and tasted.

Kissing Marinette was like taking all of Nino's wildest dreams and merging them into one satisfying pie; even though he still had dreams beyond just dating what had to be his dream girl, he felt in a single moment of kissing her like the luckiest and happiest man alive. He wasn't the sort to go tell her that, but he'd show her through playlists that he made for her or through videos that he recorded of them just hanging out or through pouring what he could of his heart into their kisses.

She made his heart race and soar; Marinette was the kind of girl that anyone would long to come home to for the rest of their life. The kind of girl that would take care of them and yet still held so much of the world in her tiny grasp. Her passion could spark a fire and so Nino found himself admiring how sometimes he thought she was more passionate about her designs than he was about film and music. Just, she lived and breathed creatively, and Nino felt like putty compared to that, not in a bad kind of way, just kind of awed and inspired by her.

Marinette had only became much, much sweeter when he came to find out her secret identity. It was sweet to know that Ladybug behind the mask, behind the confidence, was as loving and sweet as a girl could be, that though Chloe fired up her anger that she tried to hold at bay as a superhero, she loved her family so much, absolutely adored her boyfriend for reasons that Nino could not grasp, and loved her classmates. Her creativity she shared with the world, and perhaps that kind of sweetness, the kindness to share her gifts with those around her, captured his heart at first.

He just knew that one day, he couldn't look away from her sweet smile, her casual friendship, or her creative passion for the world. Marinette loved so freely, and Nino just longed to share that love so much with her.
