Hey guys M.A.N.M Angel here so this one shot was inspired by listening to my parent's stories about how I gave them a lot of sleepless nights for the first 2 years of my life. Fluff story featuring InuxKag, mentions of Mirxsan. Rated T, AU (Alternate Universe). Enjoy!
Sleepless nights
Hearing, the piercing wail of a baby echoing through the house made Inuyasha sigh with exasperation, as he stared at the laptop screen that he was working only to see the work load left to be done on the orders of his half -brother.
Groaning, he made his way upstairs to the nursery to see what was wrong with his baby girl now. His poor fiancée/mate, sitting on the rocking chair trying to put their whimpering, baby girl to sleep. From her haggard appearance, with dark circle rimmed, tired looking eyes, to her hair sitting on top her head in a messy bun, she was in the same state as he was.
"She's still awake?" asked inuyasha while yawning, while looking at the clock in the nursery, which was indicating that it was 3:00 am.
"Yeah well Sango warned us that having a colic baby will be very tiring."replied Kagome, while tiredly looking at the little girl in her arms.
That's right little Keiko Taisho was born a colic baby, add her half demon heritage as a Inu-hanyo. Well, let's just say her parents knew they were going to be in one of hell of a ride. And it has been amazing & VERY tiring at the same time. Well with Keiko being colic & half demon at the same time meant that she was very sensitive, meaning she would cry most of time. But her parents still loves her & she was their little princess.
"Yeah I know wench, Miroku cried about it to me for the past two years!" Their friends Sango & Miroku have three kids already under the age of five. Two year old twin girls, Mia & Aya, plus the addition of new born baby boy Ichiro who just arrived around two months ago. Keiko was four & half months older. The twin girls were both born colic which meant Sango & Miroku have been through hell with the twins and they warned the new parents the moment the doctor informed them about the baby being colic, that they were gonna a very difficult time.
But tonight was very difficult compared to other nights they have suffered. She refused everything, even mommy's milk and was hell bent on keeping her parents suffering but there was they could do other than ride it out.
Some days like today are very difficult with keiko, it was very tiring with sleep deprivation and a colicky baby, kagome even quit her job as teacher because of the difficulties of taking care of their baby girl. But kagome & inuyasha wouldn't trade it for all the treasures in the world.
Inuyasha walked over kissed his mate and plucked the fussing baby from her mother's arms and said to kagome "you should go & take a nap kags, your mama, souta & the senile old man are visting, also, you have shippou's recital to go to, so you need to be awake." And added "I'll take care of her."
"Inuyasha you have paper work to finish, Sesshomaru isn't exactly gonna cut you some slack you know, besides I am used this….."Trailed off kagome while looking at keiko who was asleep in her daddy's arms.
"Inuyasha, look she's gone to sleep" whispered kagome to Inuyasha who was looking at their daughter at surprise. Keiko was sleeping very peacefully, their pup was very beautiful with silver hair ,puppy dog ears & her mother's pale blue eyes.
Inuyasha gently laid baby Keiko in her crib & slowly tip toed out the nursery with his mate after they kissed their daughter good night.
The couple collapsed in their bed next to each other. They held each other close, Both of them whispered "I love you" and drifted off to la la land thinking about everything good their life and baby Keiko.
