Prompt: "Unlike you I'm gonna put her first."

Riley stood on the side, her arms wrapped around herself protectively. Tony and Pepper sat at her dining room table, her old one. Her parents, Cory and Topanga had offended looks on their face, as they read over the paperwork, that essentially made them no longer Riley's parents, except on legal documents and in D.N.A.

"Excuse me." Topanga started, slamming her hands onto the table, earning a lifted eyebrow from Pepper. "You heard us." The redheaded C.E.O responded, glancing back at the nervous fifteen year old.

Pepper continued, her 'don't fuck with me' smile resting on her face. "We want you to give up any rights that you have to Riley, except being the people who sign all her legal documents until she turns 16. Then, after that, we'll get her emancipated, on accounts of child abandonment".

Topanga looked at Riley, hurt blooming on her face. Cory looked down at the table, shame in his eyes. Topanga squeezed her husband's hand before glaring at Riley. She spoke harshly, "Riley. Why are you doing this? We've given you everything, why on earth are you doing this?

Riley sucked a breath in before responding quietly. "Love. You've never gave me love. At least, not the way you give it to Maya, or even to uncle Josh. I'm your daughter," Riley's voice broke, and she began to sob, her mascara running as she continued, "I'm supposed to be your baby girl, and yet you don't love me."

Tony stood up, quickly crossing the room, to hug the girl. He wrapped his arms around her, allowing her to finally cry.

Riley gasped for breath, the tears growing as she finally let it all out. "I'm just your problem, Dad only cares about me when he can use me and my life for one of his lessons, and you never even wanted me in the first place. Am I nothing to you? Do you even love me? Because, Tony and Pepper and Aunt Morgan, and Harper do. They love me no matter what. You don't."

Topanga and Cory stared at their daughter, they hadn't even known that Riley felt that way. Their hearts broke for her, and they knew that they had been unfair to the fifteen year old girl.

Cory sighed, running a shaky hand through his shaggy brown curls, he spoke for the first time. "Where do I sign?"

Topanga looked at him, betrayal on her face. "Cory," she growled, "This is our daughter we're talking about. Our Riley."

Cory grimaced, before dropping Topanga's hand. He sighed again, before responding to his wife. "Unlike you, Topanga, I'm gonna put her first. She deserves it, and we haven't given her what she deserves, in a very long time."

Topanga looked at Riley, tears brimming in her eyes, as she stood up and walked towards her daughter. She rested her hands on the sides of Riley's face, making the girl look into her eyes. "Are you sure honey? Cause, I'll change. I'll do anything for you, y'know that right?"

Riley shook her head, before mumbling sadly. "No, you'd do anything for Maya. Not me. I'm finally happy mom, for the first time, in a long time."

Riley gently pulled Topanga's hands off of her face, before taking a deep breath. She began to speak, tears in her eyes as she hugged both of her parents.

"Thank you for raising me for the first 15 years of my life, Mom and Dad. I know that it was hard, and that there were many obstacles." She smiled sadly, before continuing. "Just promise me one thing, don't let Auggie feel the same way I do. Give him as much love as you give Maya ok? And don't you worry about me, I have a family of my own now, and it's a little and a bit broken, but it's mine. It's all mine."

Cory nodded, grabbing a pen, and signing the document with a flourish. He smiled at Riley, before kissing her forehead softly. Topanga, stood still for a moment, before turning around and signing the paperwork herself.

Riley let out a sigh of relief, as Topanga handed the papers over to Pepper who smiled softly, before kissing Riley's forehead. "C'mon Kiddo." Tony mumbled, wrapping his arm around Riley's shoulder, turning her away from her sobbing mother. And with that, Riley and her new family walked out of the Matthews' apartment, ready to start a new life.
